Tungsten Ring Gets Stuck on Finger?

Today, I hear a news that a girls finger was got stuck by her tungsten ring and she has to call for the help of emergency. Finally, the girl got her finger out but cost a ring cutter. Why this tungsten ring is so difficult to be cut?

The fact is that tungsten is the hardest metal in the world which is much firm that gold and silver. Tungsten carbide is a substance of tungsten combined with carbon which is softer than tungsten but also very strong. So, that is the reason why tungsten carbide ring is not easy to cut off.

But you need not to worry about tungsten rings cannot be got out, you can remove the ring by soaking your finger in ice water and use petroleum jelly, or lotion without any luck, the ring can be removed by cracking it into pieces with standard pair of vice-grip pliers.
