PAINTING OF CLOTH-LESS WOMAN BY ITALIAN ARTIST

Post n°1 pubblicato il 21 Giugno 2010 da nrlanga

Theme: Italian Artists Painting a New Wave. women Painters experimenting the real feels and cool colours.

"Sensualità". by Roberta Cau Oil on Canvas size 40 x 50 cm

Trend in Figurative painting: When we go to see exhibitions of paintings of human bodies, we find mostly the artworks depicting mainly females in their natural beauties. And surprisingly most of the artists who paint these women are men.

In most of these paintings the curvy parts of female bodies are depicted for visible purpose of attracting the attention of male viewers. Very often this type of depiction is meant to find the attracted eyes, and not the eyes who are really interested in the art of painting. I would say that these paintings have used the natural beauty of the human body as an object rather using it as a subject of artistic depiction.

The New Wave: However, with the increase in the women painters in this field, the field of painting the natural beauty of the bodies of females and males; the scenario has changed drastically. The females painted by women artists look like the subject of the paintings, instead of the object for looking at. And if we want to have any convincing proof in the change of the mind-set of artists, there can hardly be a better example of that other than the paintings painted by Roberta Cau.

The Art: Just look at this painting "Sensualità" of a female in her natural beauty, painted by Roberta. Here the ‘trade-mark- like depiction’ of female body, the prominent (some times needless, too) show of the breasts is missing. That is the vital change of attitude. It is because the woman artist, Roberta, an Italian painter, has taken the female body as a subject for her painting. She likes painting the natural beauty of females; and she honours her subject. If we look at other paintings by her, we can have enough evidence of her artistic prowess and the dexterity she shows in choosing the subjects for her paintings.

Roberta has painted the breasts of the women models, too, but there is a wide valley of difference in her painting the breasts, so far as the basic attitude of taking a female body as an object is concerned. No one with artistic eyes would say that in her paintings the woman is painted only as an object for looking at. Roberta chooses the beautiful females as subjects of her artistic depiction; and she remains faithful to the main road of the art without going on to the by-lanes. While painting her models, she honours the female body by painting all the delicacies and beauties a human body possesses. Her other paintings can be seen HERE.

The Artist: Roberta Cau Ambu is born in Cagliari, Italy. Attracted from the shadings of the colours and several forms of art, Roberta has attended the artistic Grammar school of Cagliari, where she has learnt the fundamental laws of the diagram, the theory of the shadows and the perspective. Her peculiar artistic expression happens through the painting in oil, which she has inherited from her father. (The painting are put here with express permission from the artist. ALL THE COPYRIGHTS REMAIN WITH THE ARTIST.)
