R.I.P. Margaret Thatcher

Margaret Thatcher passed away yesterday at the age of 87. When she was in power I was a child and I had no interest in politics, but I would like to spend a few words to remember some important facts about her. She was the first woman to be elected Prime Minister in the UK, which is a great achievement if we think about the minor role women play in politics, in Britain as well as in other European countries. She was called the "Iron Lady" because of her strong will and determination – as a result, she was liked by many and despised by many others. It doesn't matter to me whether you are a fan of hers or not, I simply wish to recall one of her famous quotes:“Watch your thoughts for they become words.Watch your words for they become actions.Watch your actions for they become habits.Watch your habits for they become your character. And watch your character for it becomes your destiny. What we think, we become. My father always said that... and I think I am fine.”She once addressed the Conservative party to discuss the subject of taxation, stating that there is no such thing as public money. I found the speech worth of mention, and I'd like to share it with you. It should be easy enough for intermediate students to understand.
