The overcrowding was unbearable. We couldn't go out to buy wood or coal, and there was no medice. We got sick with colds, fevers, sores nd lice. After 23 days, I escaped with a friend, Michael Rak. We hid in a barn during the day and at night we made our way home. the Jewish police came for me, but I was in hiding, so they arrested my mother. There were wagons waiting. They told the woman and children to climb on board and made the rest of us line up in rows. It was chaos. The SS took some people off the wagons and shot them. When the wagons left, they told us to start marching. They were shooting at us to make us go faster. I saw my mother following one of the wagons; I never saw her again.Nell'agosto dell'anno seguente, i tedeschi circondarono il ghetto. Dovevamo radunarci in piazza. C'erano camionette in attesa. Ordinarono alle donne e ai bambini di salire a bordo e fecero allineare i restanti di noi. Fu il panico. Le SS fecero scendere alcune persone dai camion e le fucilarono. Quando le camionette partirono, ci ordinarono di metterci in marcia. Ci sparavano in modo che camminassimo piu' veloci. Vidi mia madre mentre seguiva uno dei vagoni; non la rividi mai piu'. We reached a freight rail station on Sunday. Everybody was begging for water. Some people were screaming, so they killed them. On Monday morning, a train arrived and they pushed us into the cattle cars. Israel and I stationed ourselves near an air vent but the car quickly filled up and people were fainting. We realised we would die and reacted in the only way possible: we pushed ourselves up on other people's heads and managed to get out. I don't know how. The SS realised they couldn't push more people in, so they added more cars. My brother and I were in one of them.Raggiungemmmo una stazione merci la domenica. Tutti imploravano per avere un po' d'acqua. Alcuni urlavano, cosi' li uccisero. Lunedi' mattina, un treno arrivo' e ci spinsero nei vagoni del bestiame. Io e Israel ci piazzammo vicino ad una presa d'aria ma il vagone presto si riempi' e la gente cominciava a svenire. Capimmo che saremmo morti e reagimmo nell'unico modo possibile: ci spingemmo sopra pe teste degli altri e riuscimmo ad uscire. Non so come. Le SS capirono che non potevano farci stare piu' gente di cosi', per cui aggiunsero piu' vagoni. Io e mio fratello eravamo in uno di quelli. The train stopped after about three hours. The name of the station was Treblinka.Il treno si fermo' dopo circa tre ore.
