The Dolphins Also Released Fullback Jorvorskie Lane The Miami Dolphins made a somewhat surprising cut Tuesday when they terminated the contract of former Chicago Bears starting guard Lance Louis.Offensive guard Lance Louis had his contract terminated five months after signing a one-year, $1.6 million deal in March, the team announced. The Dolphins also released fullback Jorvorskie Lane.The release of Louis, 28, is a good indication the team wasn't excited about his return from major knee surgery. He made his preseason debut against the Houston Texans on Aug. 17 and was slated to challenge John Jerry for the lead role at right guard after starting 28 games for the Chicago Bears over the past three seasons. After waiting months for Louis to turn the corner, the Dolphins decided it was time to move on despite not having depth on the offensive line.The Dolphins released nine players total Tuesday to get their roster down to 75 players. The list includes Louis, linebacker Michael Clay, receiver Jeff Fuller, defensive end Emeka Onyenekwu, receiver Julius Pruitt, receiver Andrell Smith, linebacker Nathan Williams, linebacker David Hinds and fullback Jorvorskie Lane.
