o flusso di coscienza è espressione di quell'area della mente umana che sta al di là della comunicazione e che non è controllata razionalmente né logicamente ordinata.
Applicato in ambito artistico permette di travalicare le consuete strutture sintattiche e arriva a toccare il fondo oscuro e inconfessato dell'animo umano.
L’esempio più celebre e valido in ambito letterario è forse il monologo di Molly Bloom con cui si chiude l’Ulisse di James Joyce.
Lo scopo dell'artista in questo caso non è quello di insegnare ma di presentare la realtà in tutti i suoi aspetti nel modo più impersonale ed oggettivo possibile e di lasciare al lettore la possibilità di comprenderla attraverso la sua personale percezione.
