Simplified Analytical Planner Spreadsheets (SAPS) software, Version 1.1

Post n°27 pubblicato il 31 Marzo 2010 da fct1970

Simplified Analytical Planner Spreadsheets (SAPS) software, Version 1.1DESCRIPTIONAuthor: Dr. Salvatore Parisi, University of Messina, ItalyLanguages: Italian, English. Particular conditions: free of charge. This description has been partially extracted by SAPS 1.1.Simplified Analytical Planner Spreadsheets (SAPS) 1.1 has been created to turn normal "three classes"-Sampling Plans (reference: Commission Reg. No 1441/2007) into less expensive and "lighter" plans (SAPs) with the same warranty about Food Safety. This software - created in a multi-spreadsheets form like other free tools (Risk Ranger, Food Safety Center, Australia; Compact Cheese 1.0, S. Parisi, FoodChemTopics; etc.), can operate under definite conditions. In other terms, SAPS 1.1 allows to establish two "simplified analytical plans"- "N in 1" (N samples and one analysis only) and "N in 2" (N samples and two analyses) - with related Conformity and Unconformity levels, r and R. Four data are requested: n, c, m and M.Naturally, all calculated results should be intended as valid approximations to the real value (see the references to determine exact results). Please consider that SAPS 1.1 can be used to convert exclusively the Plans related to 17 Food Categories, according to Commission Reg. CE No. 1441/2007 (Annex 1, Chapters 1 and 2). The detail of these Food Categories is shown into SAPS 1.1 and the first Reference. On the other hand, SAPS 1.1 cannot convert certain Sampling Plans. Reasons are fully explained in the first Reference. However, this paper is in Italian language (English & Italian summaries). Consequently, SAPS 1.1 shows synthetically all possible exceptions in form of mathematical rules. Next SAPS versions might show the basis of the procedure and related exceptions according to the first Reference and other future papers. STRUCTURE OF SAPS 1.1SAPS 1.1 software contains eight pre-compiled spreadsheets. Excluding the Introduction (Italian and English languages), other spreadsheets are:a) "SAPS N in 1". Two spreadsheets (ITA is for: Italian, ENG is for: English);b) "SAPS N in 2" Two spreadsheets (ITA is for: Italian, ENG is for: English); c) finally, two References for the comprehension and Official Sampling Plans (two spreadsheets). All calculations and results should be intended as valid approximations to the real value.Actually, the normal procedure should be made "step-by-step" or without automated methods. The first reference (Italian language, in press) can be helpful for this. In particular, the paper shows all possible"3-classes" Sampling Plans - according to Reg. (CE) No 1441/2007 - and simplified versions. Every User should be able to use these Plans by means of synthetic Tables. Anyway, new sampling Plans may be possible in the future. Consequently, the original procedure should be always used. It should be possible to publish a new paper about SAPs in English language within 12 months. However, this deadline could be anticipated because of detailed requests about the creation of SAPs. Every SAPS spreadsheet can furnish different information. Results depend on inserted data: n, c, m and M (INPUT zone). Obtained data are subdivided in three zones:Simplified Analytical Plan. Obligatory conditions (samples and analyses to be carried out)Original and/or Official Plan. Obligatory conditions (mathematical equations)Conformity and Unconformity limits. Automated setting(new values for microbiological and/or chemical data)A "Decision" box (rules to be applied - Conformity, Unconformity or Inconclusive Evidence) is shown to the end of the spreadsheet. Finally, some notes are mentioned because microbiological data may be expressed (Reg. CE 1441/2007) in the following way: "<10 C.F.U./g ". SAPS 1.1 should be released very soon (18-20th September 2009). Because of the deadline, this description will be soon integrated with the software.REFERENCES Parisi S., Delia S., Ceccio C., Crupi D., Quartarone F., and Laganà P., 2010.
