Integrating Spheres-Developing Intelligence from Light

An integrating sphere (also known as an Ulbricht sphere) is an optical component consisting of a hollow spherical cavity with its interior covered with a diffuse white reflective coating, with small holes for entrance and exit ports. Its relevant property is a uniform scattering or diffusing effect. Light rays incident on any point on the inner surface are, by multiple scattering reflections, distributed equally to all other points. Lungruop's Integrating Spheres are designed for the measurement of the total flux output of lamps and other light sources. The LMS Integrating Spheres range in size from 4 to 76 inches in diameter, offer a highly reflective, durable Spectralon or Spectraflect interior, and can accommodate lamp sizes from sub-miniature incandescent to 52-inch fluorescent lamps.
