Ritorno, dopo molto tempo, a parlare di musica sul mio blog
.Lo faccio parlando di un album dell'anno scorso che ultimamente sto ascoltando ed apprezzando sempre più: "Snowfall on Judgment Day" dei Redemption. Per dirla alla Marzullo
, la domanda nasce spontanea: chi sono?
Sono una band americana che fa progressive metal e che è arrivata con l'album sopra citato al loro quarto LP (quinto per la verità se contiamo un CD live sempre del 2009). Sinceramente li ho scoperti per caso e fino a qualche giorno fa non sapevo nemmeno chi fossero
. Ho trovato una recensione del loro ultimo lavoro sul sito "
Allmusic" e un po' incuriosito ho iniziato a sentire qualche traccia. D'altronde se si sono avvalsi per alcune canzoni dell'album della collaborazione di James LaBrie qualcosa vorrà dire (per la cronaca è stato per lungo tempo la voce dei Dream Theater
). Al primo ascolto non ero rimasto molto colpito, ma credo che questo sia dovuto al fatto che sentirli alla mattina in metropolitana non è il massimo e poi quel giorno avevo due zingari davanti, uno dei quali puzzava di Mac Donald's
. La sera stessa, nel viaggio di ritorno, sono riuscito a sentirli e a concentrami un po' di più e hanno inizato a piacermi. Ci sono delle tracce decisamente interessanti (quelle che mi piacciono di più sono "Another Day Dies (feat. James Labrie)", "What Will You Say" e "Fistful Of Sand") che sono le canzoni che danno inizio alla seconda parte del CD.Vi propongo il secondo brano dei tre sopra citati che è anche quello che più mi ha colpito come testo
