Kwin, howto get multiple desktop background

As known, in KDE4 many aspects have changed. The new Kwin is able of beautiful desktop effects, similar to Compiz. However, it's not possible to have different images as desktop background on the different faces of the cube (one of the desktop effects). Today I've found a tutorial to achive this, even if by using a trick. The trick is using different activities with virtual desktops. The following howto is taken from http://www.itnewstoday.com/?p=782 of Jeremy La Croix and released under Creative Commons License. Maybe it can sound a bit complicate, but just follow it, and you'll get different background images on the different faces of the cube.Combine Virtual Desktops With Plasma ActivitiesThe way that KDE sets up activities is clumsy and weird. An “activity” is a group of plasma widgets that you can switch to by “zooming out” of your current desktop and “zooming in” to another. This looks very weird and is not very practical. Instead, you can combine virtual desktops and plasma activities into one entity. To do this, first configure your virtual desktops. Right click the desktop pager on your panel and click “configure desktops”. Choose how many virtual desktops you want, and give them each a name if you wish.Next, click on the cashew icon on the top right of your desktop and click “zoom out”. Your desktop will be shrunk down, and a menu will appear on the left. Click “configure plasma” and check the box that says “different activity for each desktop”.Zoom back in to your original desktop/activity, and you should never have to zoom out again. From this point forward, each of your virtual desktops will have separate plasma activities. This will allow you to have a different wallpaper on each virtual desktop, as well as a completely separate set of widgets.Enjoy
