BLUES TO SENEGAL

I’m highly prejudicial, but jazz doesn’t really get much better the music of Randy Weston, with all the soul and spirituality that is part and parcel of the man himself. His latest project is “The Roots Of The Blues,” an album of duets with tenor saxophonist Billy Harper who have partnered sporadically over the past 40 years. Here, they play “Blues To Senegal” from the album. Majestic stuff from two giants.Michael CuscunaRandy Weston is one of jazz's most renowned and visionary pianists and composers.
