Jazz might be the stupidest thing anyone ever came up with. The band starts a song, but then everything falls apart and the musicians just play whatever they want for as long they can stand it. People take turns noodling around, and once they run out of ideas and have to stop, the audience claps. I’m getting angry just thinking about it. Giovedi' scorso sulla testata americana Newyorker è comparso un breve articolo con frasi come questa sopra attribuite a Sonny Rollins. Il tono ed il contenuto erano talmente grossolani e poco plausibili che era abbastanza intuibile si trattasse di un falso.Infatti, scorrendo meglio il sito, si vede che il post è inserito nella rubrica umorismo. Verrebbe da chiedersi di che tipo di umorismo si tratti, non c'è nulla di divertente nelle frasi attribuite a Sonny, la cui statura morale e l'indiscusso amore per la musica sono una costante della sua vita.Inizialmente molti ci sono cascati, sopratutto sui social network, ma a spazzare ogni polemica è intervenuto lo stesso Rollins con un breve tweet venerdi: "Hey, folks, this is some guy's idea of a joke."Un campione, anche nello stile e nella minimizzazione di un gesto di cattivo gusto che lo vedeva come involontario protagonista.
