Come ogni anno magazine, siti on line e blog si dilettano nelle classifiche dei migliori album del 2010. Vero è che un non addetto ai lavori che provasse a perdere un pò di tempo nella rete a leggere liste su liste ci capirebbe ben poco. Sotto l'etichetta di "jazz" infatti passano musiche estremamente diverse, a volte nemmeno imparentate tra loro, e la confusione apparentemente è grande. Viceversa, spogliate le classifiche del normale carico nazionalistico o di settore, alla fine i risultati tendono ad essere abbastanza omogenei. Ho già trattato delle classifiche di Jazz Magazine, primario referente europeo di qualità, e naturalmente del Top Jazz di Musica Jazz. Chiudo con due elenchi a mio modo di vedere molto rappresentativi della realtà musicale jazzistica, uno italiano e l'altro americano.Jazzit, il bimestrale di Luciano Vanni, sta per uscire con i risultati del primo Jazzit Award, referendum dei lettori e dei redattori. Su Facebook in questi giorni circolano le prime anticipazioni sulle scelte, ed è proprio li' che pesco l'elenco dei migliori 100 album dell'anno ad opera della redazione giornalistica del magazine, ognuno corredato da una breve nota critica ma senza un ordine di preferenza. Il magazine newyorkese ha gran parte della materia prima tra le mani, nessuno più adatto quindi per comprendere evoluzione e direzione di musica e musicisti.Il grande trionfatore dell'anno è sicuramente Jason Moran. Miglior album, ma se non bastasse, nei primi 10 compact del 2010 Jason è presente anche nel secondo (Mahanthappa & Green), nel quarto (Charles Lloyd) e nel decimo (Paul Motian).
