Sayumi Kamakura was born in Japan, 1953. She began composing haiku in her teens. From 1998 she has bee Editor of the haiku magazine “Ginyu” with Ban'ya Natsuishi, She attended to international haiku or poetry festivals. She won the Modern Haiku Association Prize. She published 7 haiku collections, and co-authored 13 books. She also published, in both Japanese and English, A Singing Blue and A Crown of Roses. Her haiku translated into 11 languages. She is Treasurer of the World Haiku Association, Judge of the Haiku section of Japanese daily newspaper of The Asahi Shimbun’s Saitama culture.

Toshio KIMURA is a haiku poet, born in Tokyo, Japan in 1956.

His haiku collection in Japanese, Là-base (In the Distance), was published in 2001, and French translation of his haiku appeared in HAIKU - Anthologie du poème court japonais (Gallimard, nrf).

He was a member of Modern Haiku Association (gendaihaiku@bc.wakwak.com),

World Haiku Association, Haiku International Association and Japan PEN Club.

He was Research Fellow at the University of London, and now is Professor of English at Nihon University.

Toni Piccini was born 1959 in Trieste, Italy. He wrote his first poems in local dialect and Italian, 'till he discovered the haiku universe. His works include haiku and haiga compositions. These have appeared in many Italian and Japanese publications and on websites launched from more than a dozen countries.  

His poems have appeared on Italian national radio and with his haiku he took part in the web-radio event ‘24 hours: A Day for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimiation’ (March 2006), which was aired live across five continents. His personal show, entitled Costruir Levando (‘Making/A/Rising’), which constituted the first-ever Italian haiga exhibition, was featured at the 13th International Genoa Poetry Festival (2007); the last exibition is “ Haiga beyond the blu “. In November 2008, he represented Italy at the first Tokyo Poetry Festival.

Yuko Tange was born in Japan in 1936, graduated from National Saitama University.

She has studied haiku under the direction of Ban’ya Natsuishi. Began to contribute haiku to “Ginyu” in 2002, became a regular contributor to “Ginyu” in 2004. A member of WHA. she has published haiku collection “ Injured Roses” in 2009. She is also an artist, painter, a Member of Japan Artists’ Association and International Association of Art, promoting exchanges between Japanese and foreign artists. She resides in Saitama City in Japan.

Flipse Rob from Amsterdam met in 1960 the first haiku from M. Moritake, about the flower returning to a branch. Since then, haiku writing, it has always been a part of his poetic production.

Doc Drumheller: lives in New Zealand where he practices puppetry, music, poetry and edits and publishes the literary journal Catalyst. He has worked in award winning groups for theatre and music and has published seven collections of poetry. In 2009 he participated in the 5th World Haiku Association Conference and The Druskininkai Poetic Fall in Lithuania, where he became the New Zealand Ambassador to the Republic of Užupis. He currently teaches creative writing at the School for Young Writers.

Name: Marius Chelariu, Pen Name: Marius Chelaru; born on August 30, 1961; he lives in Jassy. He was editor/ editor in chief/ director of some cultural magazines or publishing houses. He contributes with articles, poems, essays, criticism, translations in magazines from more than 20 countries. He is a member of The Romanian Writers Society, a member of the Haiku Romanian Society, a member of World Haiku Association, member of Romanian Language Writers from Québec, Canada etc.. He published over 30 books.

Vasile Moldovan was born in a Transilvanian village on 20 June 1949. He was cofounder(1991) and chairman of the Romanian Society of Haiku(2001-2009). Now he is vicechairman of this society. Vasile Moldovan published five haiku books – Via Dolorosa (1998), “The moon’s unseen face”(2001), “Noah’s Arch” (2003), Ikebana (2005) and “On a summer day…”(2010). Also he translated and edited the haiku book “The Embrace of Planets” by Japanese poet Ban’ya Natsuishi (2006). Some of Moldovan’s haiku was translated into Magyar Language and published in site Terebess Haiku.

Valentin Nicoliţov was born on February 12 th, 1945, in Bucharest. He attends the Polytechnical Institute in Cluj-Napoca graduating with an engineer diploma in 1972. He begins his literary career in 1965. He continues to write with passion at the Romanian Writers Society, Military Writers Society and the Romanian Haiku Society in Bucharest. He is a President of the Romanian Haiku Society and Editor in chief for the redaction at the Romanian-Japanese cultural magazine HAIKU. He published lyrics, short stories, a haiku international anthology and a novel.

Amelia Stănescu is a member of Romanian Writer’s Union, Romanian Writer’s Association, German’s de Bavaria (Germany) and Union of Romanian Professional Juornalist. She was the coordinator of student’s review Universitaria (2005-2008) and leader of festival Poets’s Spring at Costantza from 2007 to 2009. Laura Văceanu born on 15th February, 1948, at Bucu, Ialomitza District, is a teacher, poet, essayist, chief editor of Albatross who graduated from Philology Faculty of the Pedagogic Institute of three years, in Constanta and later she graduated the Philology Faculty at the Bucharest University, section: Romanian literature and language and The Popular Art School, section: canto -classic music in Constanta. She is a founder of the Haiku Society in Constanta from 1991, of Metafora literary Circle. Beginning with 1992 she participated in Haiku Festivals (1992, 1994) and at the National Colloquiums in 2007. In 2005 she participated in the First European Haiku Congress organized at Bad Nauheim, Germany. She introduced the teaching of haiku at the Literary Circle “Nippon Lyric Marks” in 2003.

Born in Japan in 1955. He received a Master of Arts at Tokyo University. Professor at Meiji University, Director of the World Haiku Association as well as President of Ginyu Press. Attended to many international poetry and haiku festivals. Organized WHA Conferences and Tokyo Poetry Festival 2008, etc. Authored countless publications including Madarak 50 Haiku (Balassi Kiadó, Hungary, 2007) & Flying Pope (India & Japan, 2008). Won prizes including the AZsacra International Poetry Award for Taj Mahal Review (2008).

Petar Tchouhov was born in 1961 in Sofia, Bulgaria and has published eight books of verse, including The Garden of Weak Reality /1995/, The Nearly Impossible /2004/, Three /2010/ and Safety Pins /haiku and senryu/ /2010/. He is the winner of the 2004 MTel text-message poetry contest, the recipient of the Development Group special award for the best manuscript for his novel Snowmen (2003), and the winner of the top prize at the 61st Basho Festival. 

Tchouhov has played guitar and written music and lyrics for various rock bands.

Djurdja Vukelic-Rozic was born in 1956, lives in Ivanic Grad, Croatia, graduated from The Faculty of Economy in Zagreb. She writes haiku in Croatian, Kajkavian dialect and in English. She is the founder of Haiku Association "Three Rivers" Ivanic Grad and Klostar Ivanic Haiku Meetings being the editor of relevant annual joint collections  and the haiku magazine IRIS. Beside Azami, Moonset, Whirligig, Eucaliptus, Modern Haiku, Ambrosia, Sketchbook, Haiku stvarnost/Reality, her haiku/waka have been published in the shared bilingual haiku collection Seven Windows, 2002, independent haiku collection Chasing the Clouds, 2006 and several anthologies.  For her haiku she received a number of awards and commendments in Croatia and abroad. Beside haiku, she publishes humorous sketches (three books so far) and poetry, which she puts to music.

Stjepan Rožić, now a retired electrician, is an amateur musician and is among the founders of the Haiku Association Three Rivers, Ivanić Grad, Croatia, and the International Kloštar Ivanić Haiku meetings. He writes in Croatian and the Kajkavian Dialect, publishes in haiku magazines, and has received a number of awards in Croatia and Japan. Željka Vučinić-Jambrešić born 1959 in Zagreb, Croatia. She graduated from the Faculty of Economy, Zagreb and works as a financial director. She is the president of folk dance Assembly Insula Ivanich, and Haiku Association "Three Rivers" both in Ivanić Grad. Haiku she has published since 2004 (in KO, moonset, IRIS) received a number of awards in Croatia and abroad. Hanne Hansen is the founder of the Dansh Haiku Group.

In 1982 she began writing haiku and in 1990 she stayed for one month at the Museum of Haiku Literature in Tokyo. It was also a plesure for her to participate in the World Haiku Festival in England 2000 and the WHA conference in Japan 2003. She also took part in the 1. and 2. European haiku conferences. Last year she was in Lithuania for the 20 th. Druskininkai Poetic Fall Festival and the 5 th. WHAC 2009. She has published 4 haiku collections and a guide about how to write haiku.

Danièle DUTEIL, haïku and tanka poet, is a retired french litterature teacher who resides near La Rochelle, in the isle of Ré,. where she was born.

Since 2008, she has been published in several haïku anthologies and in the first « Anthology du Tanka francophone » (French-speaking Tanka Editions, Dir. Patrick Simon, 2010).

In 2007, she joined AFH (Association Française de Haïku / French Haïku Association) as a secretary and a member of the writting comittee of the French haïku publication « Gong »

Szilvia Auth was born in 1979 amongst green hills in the South part of Hungary where she spent her childhood. May be this is the reason why she stands so close to nature. She likes Japanese culture, the clean spirit of Zen Buddhism, the beauty of an ikebana, the purity of a kanji and to feel the zanshin in everyday life. She tries to hear the depth of the sea and the voice of the growing grass and to give these feelings back in her haikus. She tries to find infinity in finite moments.

As a “Hungarian haijin” Ferenc Bakos has been writing haiku for thirty years. His first haiku in English Rising moon shadow was published in 1989 in the Mainichi Daily News. Since its foundation, he has been a member of the Haiku International Association. In the year of 2009 histumn dusk won a Honorable Mention in ItoEn-, Old cherry tree did a second prize in the Mainichi-contest. Recently he published a Hungarian haiku book Desert wind. (As an engineer he “visited” four deserts by profession.) He is living with his wife at the lake Balaton, alias “Hungarian Sea”.

Attila Bárdos was born in Budapest, 1941. He spent his childhood and school-years in a small town, Baja. Then, five university years in Szeged, in the magic circle of the giants of mathematics. He took his degree in applied mathematics. He started his career in Budapest, and wrote several technical books on maths and computing. He worked as a researcher, teacher and state official in Hungary and in abroad.

Although he go back “home” only as a visitor, he often dream of the remembers of the years spent in Baja. A considerable part of his writings drew inspiration from this charming city. The first selection of these, 135 haiku poems were published in 2009 („The afternoon grows old”). He’s editing a volume of his new poems about the thoughts on the hesitating Hungarian society, and feelings observed in the restless and troubled Hungarian capital Budapest.

Marcell Domonkos live in Celldömölk, Hungary. He was born in 1982.

He has started to learn Japanese language five years ago. During this time he got acquaintanted with the Japanese poetry, and with the Haiku, the traditional Japanese poem. He has started to write Haiku poems by myself in Hungarian, and he became a member of a Haiku-writer club, which is managed by Dr. Judit Vihar, the president of the Hungarian-Japanese Friendship Society.

In 2008 he completed a literary translation course in english language.

In 2009 he entered for some literary competitions, and he managed to publish poems.

Anna Földeáki-Horváth was born in a small village Földeák, where she lived with her grandparents (her mother died when she was 10 months). 

She lives in Budapest, published her first book (selected poems) in 2001 and is working on the second one. She mainly writes short poems, haikus as well as prose.

Roland Hollós born on October 28, 1990 in Pécs, Hungary.

He was a member of Youth Writers Association of Pécs for many years, so he took part in several local and national festivals, like reading feasts in the Youth House of the Pécs Youth Centre and The National Contemporary-Literary Festival 2008.

He is interested in literature, philosophy and theoretical physics, therefore he would like to enlarge his knowledge in these areas. He has been interested in, and shortly started to enjoy haiku writing for 3 years. He also writes poems and short stories. For him haiku means a natural expression by complex symbols of the eternal beauty of endless secrets in our life.

Born in 1947 in Deszk. Building technician, actor, caricaturist; comedian from 1973. 1982: winner of the Humor Festival. Received the Karinthy Memorial Ring in 1988, the Straw for the Homeless Prize in 1996, and the For the Homeless Prize in 2006. Has been writing since 2000, 20 books published to date. Has published 16 poetry and fairytale-themed children's books since 2004. Owner of Szamárfül Publishing Company.

Péter Németh Mikola was born on 15 July 1953, in the northern region of Hungary.

He is a poet-performer, an essayist and an editor-director. According to his qualifications, he is a philosopher-teacher. He graduated in philosophy in the Faculty of Humanities in ELTE in 1991.

At present, he is the author-director of E(x)KSZPANZIÓ International Contemporary Art Association and the artistic director of „FIESTA” Theatre. Member of the Hungarian Writers’ Association. He has been the Hungarian secretary of THE IPOLY EUROREGION Cross-border Co-operation based in Balassagyarmat for more than one decade.

Hajnalka Sánta was born in 1976, in Budapest. She graduated from University of Pécs (teacher) and University of Eötvös Loránd (sociologist). Nowadays she is an assistant lecturer in the Institute of Pedagogy (University of Pécs). I like literature, her beloved genre is the haiku. Her other favourite from the short genres is the One Minute Stories by István Örkény. Her special fields of interest are in the romology, sociology, sociology of education, sociolinguistics, and literature. She has written haikus for ten years, the first haiku was published in 2003.

Aida Szabó (Jampa drolma – it is her Tibetan name, meaning: gentle, the defender of gentleness). was born in Budapest (Hungary) on 1951.Her first collection of poems was published by the help of “Holnap Magazin”, titled: Butterfly-dreams. Her second haiku collection was published privately, titled: Pearl garland for Mala. Her poems are continuously published in anthologies and on the net. she is a poet for the Hungarian Literature Radio, member of the Haiku Club, the Literature Lovers Club in the town of Érd and Rhyme-Smiths’ Society in the town of Budaörs. With her haikus she won the first price of the Hungarian Literature Radio SCRIPT DEXTER competition in 2010.

Judit Vihar is a translator and a literary historian. Since 1975 she has been teaching at Eötvös Loránd University Budapest and also at the Károli University Budapest since 1996. She has been the president of the Association of Japanese Studies and also of the Hungary-Japan Friendship Society since 2001. In 2002 he won 1st prize of the World Haiku Conference, the English language haiku competition in Japan. She also took part in the 1. and 2. European Haiku conferences. Her significant work are A japán irodalom rövid története (A short history of Japanese Literature), 1994.; The Spirit of haiku, 1996; Ezer magyar haiku (Thousand Hungarian haiku), 2010. She has translated into Hungarian Oe Kenzaburo’s The Silent Cry, a Nobel-prize winning novel and Ban’ya Natsuishi’s MAdarak 50 Haiku (Balassi Kiadó, Hungary, 2007).
