It's not every day that one is blessed with a flash of insight that is worth writing down. But today I've discovered nothing less than my true mission in life, and I'm so excited about it that I have to write it down somewhere, even if it be a shitty site like this, where the odds of stumbling upon a worthy reader are about as high as hitting the jackpot. So here it is: "My mission: to find a spot on this planet where life is worth living, or, failing that, to create one." Please note the implied assumption that life isn't generally worth living, and sure enough, under no stretch of the imagination can I say that my experience of the world to date has ever suggested anything else. But here comes my flash of insight: it doesn't have to be that way, it doesn't have to be just doom and gloom. Although humanity is almost always synonym with crap, it isn't always so. There is still hope. There must be. |
