Tour Leffre
...The Man in Me
The man in me will do nearly any task,
And as for compensation, there's little he would ask.
Take a woman like you
To get through to the man in me.
Storm clouds are raging all around my door,
I think to myself I might not take it any more.
Take a woman like your kind
To find the man in me.
But, oh, what a wonderful feeling
Just to know that you are near,
Sets my a heart a-reeling
From my toes up to my ears.
The man in me will hide sometimes to keep from bein' seen,
But that's just because he doesn't want to turn into some machine.
Took a woman like you
To get through to the man in me.

Questa mattina
Questa mattina è stata portentosa. Un po’ di neve
copriva il terreno. Il sole galleggiava in un limpido
cielo azzurro. Anche il mare era azzurro e verde-azzurro
fino all’orizzonte.
Neanche un’increspatura. Calmo.
Ho proseguito
fino ad arrivare alla scogliera.
Da lì ho guardato il mare e il cielo e
i gabbiani che volteggiavano sulla spiaggia bianca
laggiù. Tutto bello. Tutto immerso in una luce
pura e fredda.
dov’ero. Finché alcuni uccelli non si sono alzati
dagli alberi contorti. E sono volati
nella direzione in cui dovevo andare.

Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
I seem to recognize.. your face
haunting familiar yet
I can't seem to place it
cannot find the candle of thought
to light your name
lifetimes are catching up
with me
all these changes taking place
I wish I'd seen the place
but no ones ever taken me
hearts and thought they fade
fade away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away
I swear I recognize your breath
memories like fingerprints
are slowly raising
me you wouldn't recall
for I'm not my former
its hard when your stuck upon the shelf
I changed by not changing at all
small town predicts my fate
perhaps thats what no one wants to see
I just want to scream.. hello
my god its been so long
never dreamed you'd return
but now here you are
and here I am
hearts and thoughts they fade
away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away
hearts and thoughts they fade
away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away
hearts and thoughts they fade
fade away

Penny Lane
In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to know.
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello.
On the corner is a banker with a motorcar,
The little children laugh at him behind his back.
And the banker never wears a mack
In the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back
In penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen.
He likes to keep his fire engine clean,
It's a clean machine.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
A four of fish and finger pies
In summer, meanwhile back
Behind the shelter in the middle of a roundabout
The pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And tho' she feels as if she's in a play
She is anyway.
In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer,
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim.
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back.
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies,
Penny Lane.

Dippold, l’ottico
Che cosa vedete adesso?
Globi di rosso, giallo, porpora.
Un momento! E adesso?
Mio padre e mia madre e le mie sorelle.
Sì. E adesso?
Cavalieri in armi, belle donne, visi gentili.
Provate questa.
Un campo di grano – una città.
Benissimo! E adesso?
Una donna giovane e angeli chini su di lei.
Una lente più forte! E adesso?
Molte donne dagli occhi vivi e labbra schiuse.
Provate queste.
Soltanto un bicchiere su un tavolo.
Oh, capisco! Provate questa lente!
Soltanto uno spazio vuoto – non nulla in particolare.
Bene, adesso!
Pini, un lago, un cielo d’estate.
Questa ve meglio. E adesso?
