What was the groom wearing as he watched his bride walk down the aisle

Post n°5 pubblicato il 12 Settembre 2012 da jamieparkaq

When you think of a wedding, you probably think of the bride's dress, the flower arrangements, the food and the music. But what about the groom? More specifically, what about the groom's attire? It's his special day, too. So it's time to devote some attention to him.

Think back to all the weddings of decades past. What was the groom wearing as he watched his bride walk down the aisle? Most weddings were formal occasions and the tuxedo ruled the day.

But times have changed. One of the reasons for this shift could be the economy says Jane Carlton Hall, Fashion Design instructor at The Art Institute of Houston. "When it's time to find a place to cut costs when planning your wedding in this economy, a formal tux is one place couples start," she says. Hall points out that even if the groom springs for a new suit, it'll be something he can wear again and again.

But other factors also come into play. "Now people are much more creative, with destination weddings and dude ranch weddings, which are popular here in Arizona, and the attire matches the location," says Elizabeth Heuisler, academic director for Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing at The Art Institute of Tucson. She advises that grooms still lay out some cash for a new pair of jeans if they wind up saying their "I dos" at a dude ranch.

Cyndy McCoy, a Fashion Retail Management instructor at The Art Institute of Fort Worth, a campus of South University adds, "A nice light colored shirt with linen pants and sandals or even barefoot works very well for the groom at a beach wedding."

And even if you are taking a more traditional route and planning a formal evening wedding, you don't necessarily need a tux. "Nothing dictates that you have to wear a tux," says McCoy. "A nice black suit works quite well." Hall advises that even if you don't necessarily plan on wearing a tux, a formalwear store is a good place to go for ideas and advice about current trends.

Hall says the recent royal wedding in Britain reminds us that classic looks are always in style. McCoy echoes, "You can never go wrong with the classics."

But according to Hall, when all is said and done, the special day is still about the bride. "In my opinion, the groom should dress in the same way that a museum frames a beautiful painting, so as not to detract from the bride."

But is Mary's dress the most fashionable bridal gown of all time

Post n°4 pubblicato il 04 Settembre 2012 da jamieparkaq

When your wedding guest list reads like the front row of a Chanel catwalk presentation you know it's going to be one hell of a fashionable affair. And so it was when 24-year-old model and niece of Daphne Guinness Lady Mary Charteris married musician Robbie Furze on Saturday at Stanway House in Gloucestershire. We're pretty sure that the picturesque Coswolds estate didn't know what hit it as style icon after style icon arrived en masse to celebrate the nuptials.

As well as the bride's glamorous aunty Daphne Guinness, attendees included model siblings Cara and Poppy Delevigne, Georgia May Jagger with mum Jerry Hall in tow, musicians Florence Welch and a pregnant Lily Allen, and actors and former flames Jaime Winstone and Alfie Allen.

While all the guests were suitably attired for a fash bash all eyes were most certainly on the bride who wore a brilliantly bonkers cut out creation by Pam Hogg. The yellow haired designer herself was even on hand throughout the day to oversee the MANY layers of the pink bridesmaid dresses .

But is Mary's dress the most fashionable bridal gown of all time? Surely other contenders include Kate Moss who wed her hubby Jamie Hince last year in a John Galliano dress or Margherita Missoni who wed in June wearing an OTT Missoni silk and organza gown. And finally, Mary must compete with Dazed magazine's Katie Shillingford who tied the knot in 2011 wearing a bluish grey Gareth Pugh creation (no traditional white wedding for this fashion editor!) complete with pink hair and makeup by Alex Box of Illamasqua.

Bride wars is on!

Went on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dresses uk

Post n°3 pubblicato il 24 Agosto 2012 da jamieparkaq

Like millions of brides before her, Julie Rising Bryan, a Wellesley attorney, went on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dresses uk in the lead-up to her big day. But like only a few other brides before her, Bryans journey was chronicled on TV.

Bryan is one of three brides to appear in the series premiere of I Found the Gown, a new TLC show chronicling the bridal quest for red bridesmaid dresses at Vows, a Watertown shop that sells designer gowns at discounted prices. The show premieres on Friday, August 24.

Bryan talked to the TAB about how she ended up on the show, which dress she picked and how brides should approach the dress-picking process.

How did you find out about the show?

I had heard about the show from the woman who runs the venue [Massachusetts Horticultural Society] where I was having my wedding. They were looking for brides who were looking for I dresses.  Had been chatting with her about various things, and she knew I was on the hunt for a gown, and she said, hey lets reach out to the show.

What was it like to be on the show?

It was really fun. It was great. I knew about Vows, the store. I wasnt in particular looking for designer gowns but I was really looking for a bargain because I was on a budget.Everybody was really nice, and it was really fun. It made my dress hunt easy, and relatively painless.

Give us some spoilers. What dress did you end up picking?

The first dress that I tried on was the dress I ended up picking. It was a Paloma Blanca. At first I wasnt sure about it, but I liked it, andthe show will show you the whole story, how many dresses I tried on before I went back to the first one.

Are you going to have a watching party?

Im definitely going to watch it with my husband, and my sister might come over. Were not quite sure yet. I told as many people as I could to watch it, so hopefully well have a lot watching.

Any advice for other brides looking for a dress?

I would say the best strategy is to just go in with no preconceived notions. Dont have the perfect dress in mind because youre never going to find the dress you want unless you have it made. I had a couple ideas that I wanted but nothing specific. I never would have picked the dress I ended up getting, I never would have picked it off the rack, but it ended up being a gorgeous dress. Keep an open mind, bring friends. I brought friends, and I brought my husband with me too.

Also, go to Vows! They have a great selection and everyones really nice.

Most women consider comfort over style or price

Post n°2 pubblicato il 16 Agosto 2012 da jamieparkaq

The man of your dreams, a stunning short prom dresses and the most darling shoes to go with it - you have everything you need to ensure your wedding is perfect in every way. But at the end of your big day, will you be left with something less welcome than beautiful memories? Will you be sporting sore - or possibly even injured - feet?

"Brides may think that aching feet at the end of their wedding day is just something they'll have to put up with," says Dr. Jacqueline Sutera, a doctor of podiatric medicine and spokesperson for the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). "But while dancing the night away at the reception can tire their feet, brides shouldn't end their big day with sore feet. The right shoe choice can help protect them from foot pain."

Most women consider comfort over style or price when selecting a shoe, according to an APMA survey. Yet brides may be tempted to put looks over comfort, thinking they'll wear their wedding shoes so briefly a little discomfort won't make a difference. Wearing shoes that irritate your feet can cause long-term injury, however, and make existing problems, like bunions or hammer toes, worse.

When you're picking out wedding shoes, keep these tips from APMA in mind:

* Lower heels are better. You may love how your legs look in those 5-inch stilettos, but very high heels can put a lot of pressure on your feet and even cause misalignment of the spine. If you know you'll be on your feet for hours (and what bride isn't?), consider choosing a lower heel of no more than 2 inches.

* Can't go without your very high heels? Consider keeping a second, lower-heeled shoe on hand to slip on during down times. Wear your hot high heels for the ceremony and photos, and switch to the more comfortable, practical (but still pretty) lower heels for the reception.

* Shoes with wide, rounded toes tend to be more comfortable. Pointed or tight shoes pinch the toes into unnatural positions, and can cause or contribute to a number of foot problems. A good rule of thumb - if you can't wiggle your toes in your shoes, they're too tight.

* Opt for materials that have some "give." White patent leather pumps may look great, but those satin shoes may actually be better for your feet if they have a bit of stretch. Never wear plastic or vinyl shoes, which don't allow feet to breathe.

* Whatever shoe material you choose, the shoe itself should have a flexible sole that allows your toes to bend naturally when you walk, and have a rigid, cushioned heel counter to keep your foot from slipping around inside the shoe. Consider purchasing inserts for your shoes to help cushion the heels, arches, and balls of your feet.

* Don't buy a gorgeous but uncomfortable pair of shoes thinking you'll "break them in." Any shoe you buy should be comfortable immediately, and you probably won't want to wear them before the wedding day and risk getting them scuffed or dirty. If it rubs or chafes in the store, time and wear will not improve how the shoe feels.

* Everyone's foot expands throughout the day, so go shoe shopping in the afternoon when your feet are at their largest. Even if you plan a sunrise wedding, choosing your wedding shoe based on your end-of-day size will help ensure you get the best fit.

* Flip-flops are a hot trend for brides, especially if you're marrying during warm months. Flip-flops can be very comfortable; just be sure to choose the right style. Flip-flops with soles that bend freely and twist easily offer no support or stability. Look for a style that bends only at the ball of the foot, and that provides arch support, cushioning the foot and providing stability. The thong part of the shoe should be made of high-quality, soft leather to help avoid blisters.

"Sore feet should be the last thing on your mind on the biggest day of your life," Sutera says. "Some wise choices in footwear can help brides ensure their feet feel as great as they look on their wedding day."if you want to know more , site in http://www.persun.co.uk/beach-wedding-dresses-c130/
