How to Buy Power Tools At a UK Drill Battery Shop

Post n°12 pubblicato il 24 Maggio 2014 da batterydepot

When you need a POWER TOOL for the handyman or the craftsman in your family but your budget is limited, it is possible to find bargains if you know where to look. Ordinarily you would shop your local home improvement or hardware store for new tools. However, if you have a limited budget you can find good tools at the right price.

Your local UK Drill Battery SHOP is a great place to find power tools battery for Hitachi or other items at great prices. Learn how to shop effectively at a UK Drill Battery shop.

Go directly to the tool department. It is easy to be distracted by the other items you find. Look at available tools carefully. Many times the tool is still in the original case. If you find something you want take it to the sales person and have them plug it in for a test. When testing power tools listen to it run. The motor should run smooth and should not miss, skip, or drag. If the sales person refuses to plug in the item you should find another UK Drill Battery SHOP. The item is suspect.

Battery tools should definitely be tested before you purchase. If the BATTERY is not charged, have them charge it for you and make sure the charger goes with the tool. This assures you that the battery is good.

To purchase your item always try to get a reduction from the asking price. Most pawn shops will deal with you if an appropriate offer is made. You should ask for 10% less than the asking price. Although pawn brokers do not pay retail prices they must make a profit on the items they sell. You will be surprised at how much they will reduce the price if you ask.

Start shopping around for your POWER TOOL before you need to purchase so that you will be able to take your time and get the best deal. Pawn shops have many bargains if you shop carefully.

Make sure you want an item before you purchase a cordless drill battery for Hitachi. Most UK Drill Battery shops do not accept returns.

You can find pawn shop bargains but be selective.

How to Repair a Cordless Drill Charger

Post n°11 pubblicato il 23 Maggio 2014 da batterydepot

Cordless drills run primarily on a detachable and removable battery pack. When your cordless drill stops holding a charge, there are a few factors that come into play. But most commonly, you can trace the issue back to your battery pack or external battery charger. While you can rebuild the power tool battery for Hitachi, it is a complex procedure. In many cases, you can solve the problem by repairing the battery charger itself.

Remove the battery pack from the charging unit. Do this by pressing on the release buttons on either side of the battery pack. Disconnect the charger's power cord from the nearest electrical outlet.

Blow out all dust and debris from within the charger's contacts with a can of compressed air. Use a medium-grit file to file down the contacts slightly. This is only to clean the charger's contacts of any accumulation of dirt or battery acid.

Apply some rubbing alcohol to a clean wash cloth or paper towel. Thoroughly wipe down the inside of the battery charger's compartment. Allow five minutes for the alcohol to dry.

Plug in the battery charger and insert the battery pack into the charger. You may have to remove and re-insert the cordless drill battery for Hitachi several times before making a connection, depending on how much dirt has accumulated on the charger's contacts.

Refer any major electrical repairs to a power tool repair technician. Dismantling the charger yourself will void your drill's warranty.

Test a Drill Battery Pack With Three Terminals

Post n°10 pubblicato il 19 Maggio 2014 da batterydepot

Drill battery for MAKITA can contain nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion or lithium polymer cells. Lithium ion and lithium polymer cells produce more energy and last longer, but they have to be monitored during the charging process as lithium-based cells can catch fire, or even explode, if they are overcharged. To prevent overcharging occurring, drill battery manufacturers fit temperature sensors that activate and cut off power if a battery gets too hot. You can determine if your drill battery has a temperature sensor as the battery pack has three, instead of two, terminals. However, you only need to use two terminals (positive and negative) to test your drill battery.

Charge your drill battery as usual. Remove the battery from the charger once fully charged. Leave the drill battery for several hours -- overnight is best. This lets energy discharge from your drill battery if it's not in good condition.

Put your drill battery on a table and get your multimeter nearby. Read the label on the drill battery to find out the voltage and milliamp hours (mAh) it produces if the battery is in good condition.

Look at the three terminals on the drill battery. One is labeled "Temp;" you don't need to use this terminal to test your drill battery. The second terminal is labeled "Gnd" and is the negative terminal. The third terminal is labeled "+ve" and is the positive terminal.

Set the multimeter so it measures voltage. Place the metal prong on the end of the red wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled "+ve." Place the prong on the end of the black wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled "Gnd."

Check the voltage measurement on the multimeter display. It reads the same as the output voltage on the drill battery label if the battery is fully charged and in good condition. Your drill battery is also fine if the multimeter measurement is about a volt lower than the drill battery label, but if the measurement is more than 1 volt lower your battery is losing its charge. Over time it gets worse so you need to check it regularly so you know when to get a replacement.

Set the multimeter so it measures mAh. Place the metal prong on the end of the red wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled "+ve." Place the prong on the end of the black wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled "Gnd."

Check the mAh measurement on the multimeter display. It reads the same as the mAh on the drill battery label if the battery is in good condition. Your drill battery is also fine if the multimeter measurement is about 5 percent lower than the drill battery label but if the measurement is more than 5 percent lower your power tool battery for Makita is not producing the correct energy to power your drill and over time it will deteriorate further. Check it regularly so you know when to get a replacement.

How to Put New Fuses in My Dewalt Radio

Post n°9 pubblicato il 15 Maggio 2014 da batterydepot

Capable of running off alkaline Dewalt DE9057 batteries, an AC power adapter and rechargeable batteries, the Dewalt radio can work in any situation. However, in the event that the fuses inside burn out, the rechargeable option of the device might disintegrate, leaving you tethered to a wall socket or purchasing alkaline batteries by the dozen. Learning how to replace your Dewalt radio's fused ensures that your device remains functional in any environment.

Unplug the device and unscrew all eight of the fastener screws holding the two parts of the outer shell together. Remove the screws from the back. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the two Dewalt DE9039 tool batteries (Dewalt glues the case shut during the manufacturing process).

Open the case. Locate the two fuses near the bottom of the front case. Identify the fuses --- small cylinders about an inch long with glass sandwiched between two metal ends. Remove the busted fuses.

Insert the new fuses into the  drill battery for Dewalt DE9038. Snap the case closed. Screw the fastener screws back into place to seal the outer case. Plug in the device and check that it is working.

How to Charge a Cordless Power Tool Battery

Post n°8 pubblicato il 05 Maggio 2014 da batterydepot

Cordless power tools operate by using electricity drawn from a wall outlet and stored in rechargeable battery cells. Energy is transferred from the outlet to the HITACHI power tool battery through the use of a battery charger that plugs into the outlet. To get the most power and longest possible working time out of your cordless power tool, you should fully charge the battery after each use.

Disengage the throttle or activation switch on your tool; allow the motor and all moving parts to come to a complete stop.

Remove the battery from the tool. Refer to your tool's operation manual for instructions regarding how to remove the battery.

Set the battery aside and allow it to cool for 10 to 15 minutes to avoid overheating the battery during the charging process.

Plug the tool's battery charger into an active wall outlet. Use the charger that came with your tool; if you do not have the tool's original battery charger, be sure to use a charger that matches the voltage of your battery. Consult your operation manual or your tool's manufacturer to determine the proper voltage rating for your battery and charger. Mismatching the voltages of a battery and charger can result in poor battery performance, damage the battery or create an electrical fire.

Insert the battery into the charger. Verify that the battery is charging; if the light on your charger is red, the battery is currently charging. You will know that the battery is fully charged when the light on the charger turns green.

Remove the battery from the charger, unplug the charger and insert the battery into your cordless tool.

When you charge a new battery for the first time, allow the battery to charge fully before using the tool. Failure to do so will greatly reduce the life of your new battery.

Maximize the amount of time you can work with your cordless tool by charging the battery fully after each use.

Buy a backup battery. When your first battery gets low, charge it and use your backup battery to keep working without interruption.

Do not alter a cordless tool's battery unless you are an experienced electrician. Incorrect modification of a rechargeable METABO cordless drill battery components can result in malfunction, electrical fire or burns.
