It was received with open arms and turned out to be a huge success.This year Kostia travels deeper into the 18th century in Finland and Europe. This century saw the development of the philosopher movement and political and economic theories that would dramatically change the face of European society. Europe itself changed from a household economy to an industrial economy. This change, perhaps one of the most earth-shattering transitions in human history, permanently altered the face of European society and the family.In Finland the 18th century began badly as the nation had just suffered some hardships due to crop failures. The Great Nordic War caused further economical suffering in Pälkäne and claimed large numbers of manpower for the war efforts. The aftermath of the War and the Russian occupation in Finland, so called the Great Hate (1714-1721) prolonged the sufferings of the nation further. Kostia 2005 event will take us back to those years of change and tragedy, when it took some exceptional perseverance and courage for a nation to survive.
