TUNISIA: The police dispersed a demonstration against Nessma TV in Tunis

Friday police fired tear gas against hundreds of people, mostly Salafi, who demonstrated in the Kasbah of Tunis, to protest against the broadcast chain Tunisian private TV Nessma French-Iranian film "Persepolis." Several demonstrators took refuge in the mosque in the Kasbah and the police chased some of them, found an AFP journalist. The protest began peacefully at the exit of a mosque in the center of Tunis after the sermon on Friday. Men and women shouted "Allah Akbar" and slogans against Nessma, but as we approach the seat of government only the most radical demonstrators, continued the protest movement as traders closed their shops. Nessma chain is at the center of controversy since she released the French-Iranian film "Persepolis", including a scene that caused the anger, represents God in the guise of an old bearded man, while the Islam forbids any representation of God or the prophet. The CEO of Nessma, Nabil Karoui, apologized to the Tunisian people for the dissemination of this scene but failed to appease the anger of the people and most of the sermons in mosques on Friday in Tunis have been devoted to this case.
