LA BALLERINA AL GRAN PREMIO DI SINGAPORE

La Ballerina di Lebigre-Roger-Galli che nel 2004 trionfò al Carnevale di Viareggio. Un tuffo nel passato, un carro in cartapesta che fece epoca. Domenica prossima, 23 settembre 2012, la parte posteriore (che in realtà era il davanti del carro), quella che allora era occupata cioè dalla 'ballerina', sarà visibile dal circuito di F1 di Singapore.   Feast your eyes on a six storey high 'Ballerina', the ingenious backdrop of a French aerial dance group specially brought in as a collaboration with Italy's Carnivale di Viareggio. The 2004 winner of the renowned festival features a handmade paper-mache marionette with aerial performers executing gravity-defying dances in a performance themed La Sens de la Vie (the meaning of life) at the Padang.The behemoth 20 metre tall Ballerina requires a crew of six to move and four days to set up, but in reality is a delicate structure made with great care by hand and weighs only 400 kg.La Sens de la Vie (stages of life) is modeled after the path of a man and a woman through a lifespan: from birth, to the carefree love of adolescence, to the contented happiness of a mature love. At Birth, dancers begin their journey through life by leaving the embryo sac that surrounds them. The arms and legs of the puppet moves, bringing the puppet to life. Childhood is characterised by faster music, typical of the energy exhibited by running children. At Adolescence, the music becomes more frantic as this is the time of first love. Fading into Maturity, the actors become aware of love and life. The dance slows down, the lights and music change.
