Dust Catchers and Their Applications

Post n°2 pubblicato il 25 Ottobre 2012 da kangmin

p>Device that separates dust from exhaust gas are called dust catcher or dust collection equipment. They are commonly applied to boilers and industrial production.
According to their working principles, there are five categories of Blast Wheels. They are mechanical vibrating dust catchers, washing dust catchers, filtering dust catchers, electrostatic dust catchers, and magnetic dust catchers.
Mechanical vibrating dust catchers include gravity blast cleaning equipment, inertia dust catchers and centrifugal dust catchers, etc. Gravity dust catchers usually are used for preliminary cleaning of dust gas. In order to improve efficiency of the dust catcher, you can lower the height of the settling chamber or set up multilayer settling chambers. Inertia dust catchers are usually used to catch dust particles with a diameter of over 10 micrometers, so they can be easily blocked. Therefore, they are not suitable for catching sticky and fibrous dust. The most commonly used centrifugal dust catchers are cyclone dust catchers. Their structures are simple, and their costs of manufacturing are low. They are suitable for removing dust particles with diameter of over 5 micrometers. The dust collecting efficiency of their protective films is 70-90%.
The washing dust catcher is a kind of dust collection equipment that uses water to wash dust gas and purify the gas, including gravity spray dust catchers, cyclone washing dust catchers, bubble dust catchers, venturi dust catchers, etc. Gravity spray dust catchers are usually used to remove dust particles with a diameter of over 50 micrometers. Their structures are simple. With small resistance, they are easy to operate. But they take up too much space, consume too much water and have low efficiency. Cyclone washing dust catchers are used to catch dust particles with a diameter of less than 5 micrometers. They are suitable for occasions with large amount of gas and high-density dust. Commonly used cyclone washing dust catchers include cyclone water membrane Shot Blasting Machines, rotary drum water membrane dust catchers, and central spray cyclone dust catchers. The efficiency of bubble dust catchers mainly depends on the thickness of the bubble layers. When the thickness of the bubble layer is 30 micrometers, the efficiency is 95%-99%; when the thickness is 120 micrometers, the efficiency is over 99.5%. Venturi dust catchers have high dust collecting efficiency, which can reach 99%. They can also use the waste heat of the factory as their energy.
Filtering dust catchers include sack-type dust catchers and granular layer dust catchers, etc. In modern industry, sack-type dust catchers are more commonly used. Sack-type dust catchers use filter sacks to catch dust. The filter sacks are usually made of natural fibers, synthetic fibers, glass fibers and metal fibers. Ceramic filter dust catchers are a kind of granular layer dust catchers. Their filter material is micro porous ceramic. They can be used to catch high-temperature dust.
Electrostatic dust catchers consume less energy than other dust catchers. Their air pressure loss is usually 10-50 millimeters water columns. Their dust catching efficiency can reach 90-99.9%. They are applied to the removal of dust particles with a diameter of 0.05-50 micrometers. They can be used in high-temperature and high-pressure occasions. They can be operated incessantly. But they are too big and cost too much.
The magnetic dust catcher is usually applied to steel industry. Over 70% of the dust particles in the steel industrial waste gas have strong magnetism, for example, smoke dust mainly consists of ferromagnetic particles. So, high gradient magnetic filters are needed. When magnetic dust catchers are used to catch dust particles with a diameter of over 0.8 micrometer, the efficiency can reach 99%, with the pressure loss being 170 millimeters columns.
