Don't be mistaken – Virgin Territory is a sex/action comedy, full of funny moments, hilarious plots and scoffing of hypocrisy. It is political, it is fun and it has sex, Virgin Territory DVD title has to be something in your movie shelf, if you enjoy teen sex comedies, and a liberal dose of mocking at catholic institutions. This film was never released in US theatres, and the US audience first saw this movie on bionic woman dvd.

Don't approach this movie so seriously and you are in for a disappointment. If you are a teenager or a guy in his early twenties, this DVD movie will pass. If you are into some serious watching, this certainly is not for you. It is comedy, close to soft-core porn and has a guy, who gets all the young women at a convent – all the while pretending to be a mute and the victim of their advances.

Directed by David Leland, this movie tells the story of medieval Europe. Lorenzo (played by Hayden Christensen), a young Florentine who flees his city after failing in a gambling duel to Gerbino (Tim Roth). He pretends to be a deaf-mute to be hired as a gardener for a convent of young nuns (who look very much like sex objects). He 'lets' every women he puts his on to 'seduce' him, while maintaining the stance that he was an innocent victim of the sex advances of the 'nuns'.

He has earlier put his eyes on Pampinea (Mischa Barton), an affluent beauty, who also flees the city fearing the advances of Lord Gerbino and finds refuge at the convent, and eventually falls for Lorenzo (in spite of her pledge to retain her virginity till marriage) and he wants her for himself. The villain who was chasing both, Gerbino finds her and forces her to marry him. A swordfight between Lorenzo and Gabrino is the next thing and after the Lord's defeat, it is only Pampinea and Lorenzo, who would live happily ever after.

The DVD comes with high quality Dolby sound and with clear images, showing the fine photography of the locations. The DVD also has extra-scenes like the censored scenes, which were cut away for sexuality. Finding the DVD is not a tough task, but finding value of this DVD is. The sex scenes are not that sexy and the lead characters are not up to the mark. The nuns are not at all presented as nuns as you would expect, but as sex materials, although they look ordinary and having medieval flavours throughout. Get this DVD, if you are a teenager and if you enjoy the fun.

All is Not Lost for HD DVD

HD-DVD stands for High Definition Digital Versatile Disk. It is used for storing high definition video content. Toshiba, the designers of HD    law and order dvd has ditched it – saying it would no longer develop or manufacture HD DVD players or drives. It can store as much as 15 GB data. This appears HD DVD surrendering after the HD format war, and letting Blu-ray as the standard for high definition movie storage. Both have competition of a new kind to handle – the emergence of online streaming videos and video download sites. Can Blu-ray last the war against broadband TV and download videos? Hardly!

For the owners of HD  the love boat dvd players and HD DVDs, Toshiba still offers support, although it doesn't develop new HD DVDs. For those people who have bought HD DVD players might be feeling bad now, as new movies will not be released in HD DVD format. However, you don't have to worry about owning HD DVDs, as you can play HD DVD, DVD and CD in the same player (one at a time).
