Meeting Our Florist and Coming Back to Reality wedding dresses Remember my recent post on bouquet inspiration and our first meeting with our florist??? Well, we had our meeting, and it was bittersweet. Sweet because we finally got to talk about the flowers we wanted and vintage wedding invitations finally began to see the vision of our day take form; bitter because making our dreams match our budget was a long stretch. Really long. See, I had always imagined we'd have tall centerpieces that looked something like this: Source We wouldn't have all tall centerpieces, though. I KNEW that'd be too expensive. We'd mix the tall with shorter ones, like this wedding did: Source I even considered the idea of having clusters, like this: Source Source Source Source Well, it turns out everything we wanted would short evening dresses have cost a fortune, and we can't get it all. The first thing to go were the tall centerpieces we envisioned. Ugh. The thing is: I'm not picky. I don't even care what kinds of flowers we have. I just wanted a few tall centerpieces because I think our venue needs that. Our venue is grand, and we needed something visually pleasing for the reception. I guess the florist started to see the disappointment in my face, and we made a wedding dresses deal. It turns out the time of year we’re getting married (the spring) is my saving grace,?because?of cherry blossoms. They're abundant in this area and she promised if they were in bloom, half of our tables would have tall, cherry blossom centerpieces. YAY! It's a good thing cherry blossoms are pink, because otherwise we might have a problem. Since they are one of our colors, and they stand tall, I don't mind adjusting our vision to include this popular springtime affordable wedding dresses flower. Who knows? Cherry blossoms might look BETTER than roses would have! Of course, as soon as the meeting was over I ran home to Google “Cherry Blossom Centerpieces.” The result got me kind of excited, too! Let's just hope they're in bloom, because (I have to check with the florist, but) I think the alternative is curly willows. Source As for the clusters—they're doable. Yippee! Our florist, who also happens to own a farm, is going to pick fresh flowers from Mother Of The Bride Dresses her garden and fill our vases with bouquets of the same flower! I CANNOT wait to see this come to life. I've been dreaming about it, for at least a year now! And the buffet and escort table displays? Well, they'll have to be DIY. The mantel flowers, outdoor flowers, and any others will have to be, too. Am I upset? Not in the least. I am extremely happy we can at least afford bouquets and centerpieces. How did your first quinceanera dresses meeting with the florist go??Are you getting all the flowers you wanted for your wedding? If not, what kind of compromises did you make? Officially Being Teased wedding dresses The anticipation is killing me! Seriously, I love our photographer and I'm more than happy to wait for his finished product, but the teasers he sends me are driving fall fashions me crazy! The first series is of when I opened my wedding gift from Mr. B (which, I admit, I had an idea of what it was). The second photo speaks for itself. How rad are John's purple socks?!
