Award-Winning Visual Artist Darryl Daniels Uses Work to Help Musicians That Inspire

Artist donating portion of art sales to national nonprofit organization which helps jazz and blues musicians in need. (PRWEB) September 1, 2010 -- Artist Darryl Daniels, whose jazz musician-inspired paintings have been seen on CD covers by world-renowned pianist Chick Corea, on festival posters for the Syracuse Jazz Festival, as well television(“The Cosby Mysteries” starring Bill Cosby) and film (Justice), is now using his artwork to help musicians in need.Daniels is donating 20% of sales proceeds of canvas and print reproductions from his Darryl Daniels Jazz Collection series of paintings, published by New York- based FineArtAmerica.com, to the Jazz Foundation of America, also based in New York. For over 21 years, the Jazz Foundation of America, a nonprofit organization, has helped jazz musicians by getting free medical care, creating work opportunities, and keeping food on the table and a roof over their heads in times of crisis. When the late singer Odetta broke her hip, the Jazz Foundation helped pay her mortgage, allowing her to stay in her home. Since the events of Hurricane Katrina, the Jazz Foundation has helped over 1,000 musicians with rent or housing expenses. During the twenty years since creating the first of his musician-based paintings, Daniels worked with traditional art publishers selling thousands of print and poster reproductions of his original works. Recently, however, he decided to join forces with FineArtAmerica.com, one of the leaders in the rapidly growing internet-based, on-demand fine art publishing industry. The transition affords Daniels, among other things, greater control over which of his works will be published. Along with this change, Daniels saw an excellent opportunity to use his work to help others and the Jazz Foundation of America was the organization chosen in this regard. Daniels says of the opportunity, “My paintings are inspired by jazz musicians, so I can’t think of a better use of my art than to help musicians in their time of need. That’s really coming full circle and I am honored to be able to offer my work in assisting The Jazz Foundation of America with such an important calling.”To view and purchase works from the series, visit:To learn more about The Jazz Foundation of America, visit:To learn more about Darryl Daniels’ work, visit:Contact:Darryl Daniels334-288-7903Darryl(at)darryldaniels(dot)com###Darryl Daniels334-288-7903Trackback URL: http://prweb.com/pingpr.php/Q3Jhcy1Db3VwLVRoaXItRmFsdS1QaWdnLVNxdWEtWmVybw==Deadfisch music , Rwj, Andy Tamashi featuringVictoria T, Man Called Gazoo, Key O vs Christian D, Prem1ere Balle, Papa Duke, Magnum 38 , Credence Clearwater , Dirty Laundry music , Alf Kjellman, Jethro Tull , Imago, Les Schmitz , Juvelen, Kaveh , DJ Devize , Pseudoslang, Big L featuringAG, Rhvw
