China to become the largest LED PCB TV market in 2010 or 2011
HBChen, vice-chairman and CEO of AU Optronics (AUO) has pointed out that with the China's current 500 million CRT TVs needing to be replaced by LED PCB TVs in the next 5-10 years, he forecast China will surpass the US and become the largest LED PCB TV market in 2010 or 2011.
Chen explained he is assuming that 10% of the 500 million CRT TVs currently in the market will be replaced each year, equating to demand for an additional 50 million LED PCB TVs. He also indicated that LED PCB manufacturer market still has significant room for growth amid the introduction of new technologies.
In terms of panel pricing, AUO president LJ Chen noted that the recent panel price recovery has only boosted prices by around 10%, a lot lower than the drop of 50% from last year. Panel makers' priority should be getting panel prices back to a reasonable level, but not necessarily to 2008 prices levels since costs have dropped amid decreasing component prices and improving production processes, he explained.

China PCB industry production / output unchanged in 2007 and 2008

The average annual growth rate of Chinese PCB industry has been to 25.3% over the past 20 years, the total output value of 2008 was up to118.3 billion, with a increase 1.77% higher than 2007, The import and export amounted to $21.37 billion, over 4.91% in the same period. In the past few years, the PCB idustry in China are facing the changes of domestic and international market environment. By the international financial crisis at the fourth quarter of 2008, there were sharp drop of orders in Chinese enterprise, accompanied with the the utilization of capacity insufficient, the direction of development unclear, which caused the output value of PCB to fall rapidly in the fourth quarter last year, followed the sales appearing a sharp decrease.

Over the past year, we have taken delivery on 4 Mania Micronics drilling machines that utilize the latest in PCB Via Formation technology including linear X, Y, and Z drives, contact drilling sensing systems, and latest PLC instrumentation. These advancements combine to allow for only a 0.5 mil z-axis tolerance, which enables us to use mechanical drilling for vias down to 4 mils in diameter and 4 mils deep (1:1 aspect ratio) without the use of more expensive, and rare, laser drilling systems. Should you have blind via designs that are more aggressive than can be drilled on these latest technology mechanical drilling systems, we also have an in-house CO2 / YAG laser drilling system.
Voids—Desmear / DeAsh
To insure that blind vias are properly desmeared and deashed (if laser drilled), we utilize a two-step desmear process. This process first requires that the panels be submitted to a plasma conditioning process in our March Plasma System. We then process through a chemical desmear that has been optimized for micro- and blind vias. This line has been outfitted with long-stroke agitation and flight bar vibration to enhance fluid movement and prevent air bubble entrapment.

What is a Multilayer PCB?(Multilalyer PCB︱PCB manufacturer︱Aluminium PCB ︱PCB manufacturing)
A printed circuit board (PCB) is a thin board "printed" with electrical wires and made from fiber glass or similar material. PCBs are commonly used in computer devices such as motherboards, network interface cards, and RAM chips. They are relatively cheap and quite fast. When the PCB is fabricated with several layers placed over one another, it is known as a multilayer PCB. The multiple layers establish a reliable set of predetermined interconnections for the electronic circuits.
There are several techniques that can be used to accomplish this task. Some of these techniques are handicapped by their reliance on a large number of chemical processes to condition the substrate. A large number of chemical processes are needed to activate the through-holes and electrolytic copper plate between the adjacent layers. The general procedure is as follows:
1. Obtaining the material and equipment that you will need, such as drills and electrolytic copper-plating cell.
2. Formatting the copper substrates so that the orientation of each can be uniquely determined. This is sometimes known as patterning and can be done using a variety of methods.
3. Drilling the layers with specific drilling equipment to create holes or vias. These vias are plated with copper to form plated-through holes.
4. Properly cleaning the copper substrates on your board.
5. Electroplating the PCB substrate using acid copper electroplating.
6. Laminating the multilayer board.
Under high pressure and heat, the layers fuse together. The conductors will be separated, and signals and power between layers will be connected. This technique ensures that all the layers are drilled and plated first, and then laminated. This can help reduce the number of chemical processes needed to accomplish this difficult task. Multilayer PCBs can have as many as 14 layers. However, this may be quite expensive, and it is more common for PCBs to have either 6 or 8 layers.
A multi-layer PCB contains two reference planes and a signal via. The signal via allows a signal to flow through all the planes. A stitching via is connected to one of the planes next to the signal via and serves to reduce the area through which the signal passes through. This is very important as it may assist in reducing noise and cross talk.
Product functionality of the multilayer PCB depends on the interconnection between the layers. Thus it is very critical to be concerned about microvias and overall HDI.
Multilayer pcb boards can either be rigid or flexible. Rigid multilayer PCB technology can prove to be very expensive because of the expertise required and the expensive drilling equipment. Flexible multi-layer PCBs make use of flexible circuits and reduce the size of the end product. However, flexible multi-layer PCBs must have fewer layers because an increase in the number of layers means a loss in flexibility of those layers.
Advantages of multilayer PCBs include high reliability and uniform wiring. However, the initial costs are higher than that of one-layered PCBs. Also, repairing a multilayer PCB is quite difficult.
