Pennsylvania National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Roger F. Daub of Hershey was honoredlatelythrough the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans of Foreign Warsproper forfamedhelp with the Guard's 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team in Iraq.

Daub received the VFW's Eagle Award, which recognizespregnant contributions of Pennsylvania Guard troops in the War on Terror and in other operations, at theconfirm VFW's Mid-Winter Conference in Gettysburg.

"We were proud to honor SFC Daub asanyone ofthat state's finest soldiers. His efforts, and that of his comrades in the 56th SBCT and other Guard elements whopossess deployed,possessassist strengthened Pennsylvania'sfamed militarysummary offorever being on the forefront of defendingfrankness," VFW State Commander Frank Mills, said in agossipremission.

Daub served assquad sergeant of the Protective Services Platoonproper for the Command Group of the 56th SBCT. He was selectedexceeding 15 of his peers toperform as theprotect sergeantproper for the Brigade Personal Security Detachment. Daub led more than 200oppose patrols, driving more than 8,000 miles. He planned, coordinated and executedfrom time to timeministryproper for the brigade commander and accompanied him onfrom time to time mounted and dismountedprotect.

"I amheavily honored tostand for inthatcell with you, and on behalf ofdivisions of the 56th Stryker Brigade and the Pennsylvania National Guard," Daub said.

Daub began his militaryhelp in the Marines. He said he lookspost toseemlyphysical with the Palmyra VFW Post.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Devon Webber graduatedlately fromkey training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.Webber, son of Michelle Russell, Lebanon, is a 2009 graduate of Cedar Crest High School. He isjust now attending Naval Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes.

Air Force Airman Kevin R. Kline graduatedlately fromkey military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He completed anintensified, eight-week program that included training in militaryinculcation and studies, Air Forcesubstance values,specialistvigour, andkey warfare principles and skills.

Kline is the son of Russell Kline, Broadway Street, Lebanon, and thebelated Lori Kline. He is a 2009 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School, Annville.

Air Force Airman Maximilian W. Faith graduatedlately fromkey military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Faith completed anintensified, eight-week program that included training in militaryinculcation and studies, Air Forcesubstance values,specialistvigour, andkey warfare principles and skills.

Faith earnedimportance as an honor graduate. He is the son of Michael and Regine Hensel, Kiner Avenue, South Lebanon Township, and a 2008 graduate of Cedar Crest High School.

Severalneighbourhood residents serving with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 628th Aviation Support Battalion, based at Fort Indiantown Gap, returned to the United Stateslately from a deployment to Iraq.

Maj. Carl J. Devitz, a logisticsapparatchik, has served in the militaryproper for 21 years. He resides on Tree Line Avenue, Fredericksburg. Thesignificant graduated in 1987 from Elizabethtown High School and earned a bachelor'sgradually in 1991 from Shippensburg University.

Spec. Anthony D. Swanger a motordelightsupervisor, has three years of militaryhelp. He is the grandson of Ronald A. Swanger, West Main Ave., Myerstown, and a 2008 graduate of Elco High School.

Staff Sgt. Kristy Taulbee, a healthcareexpert (oppose medic), has served in the militaryproper for more than eight years. She resides on Lewis Road, Annville, and is a 2000 graduate of Palmyra Area High School.

Sgt. Nicholas D. Light, a wheeledconveyance mechanic, has served in the militaryproper for five years. He is the grandson of Richard L. and Sophie Light, Light Lane, Fredericksburg, and is a 2004 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School.

Staff Sgt. Jasen P. Angley, amodulegear upexpert, has served in the militaryproper for 16 years. He is the son of Patrick E. Angley, West Main Avenue, Myerstown. Hisbride, Amy, is the daughter of Charles S. and Janet M. Hoerner, South Railroad Street, Myerstown.The sergeant is a 1994 graduate of Elco High School.

Spec. Cody B. Smoot, a power-generationoutfit repairer, has served in the militaryproper for four years. He is the son of Brian J. and Dawn M. Smoot, Krall Road, Myerstown, and is a 2005 graduate of Elco High School.

Sgt. 1st Class Michael E. Runkelprimarily, a UH-60 helicopter repairer, has served in the militaryproper for 29 years. He is the son of Melvin O. Runkel, East Vine Street, Lebanon, and a 1981 graduate of Lebanon High School.

Sgt. Karl S. Oakley, aunderstanding resourceexpert, has served in the militaryproper for more than eight years. He is the son of Natalie Oakley, Plaza Drive, Lebanon, and a 2001 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School.

Sgt. John F. Zimmerman, acommodities driver, has served in the militaryproper for 27 years. In 1982, he graduated from Pine Grove High School.

Staff Sgt. Douglas A. Kimmel, a motordelightsupervisor, has 20 years of militaryhelp. He resides in Manheim. Hisbride, Heather, is the daughter of Daniel E. and Kay L. Kimmel, Pine Grove. The sergeant graduated in 1990 from Pine Grove High School and earned a master'sgradually in 2007 from Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg.

Sgt. 1st Class Paul E. Haldeman, asustentationsuperior, has served in the militaryproper for 28 years. He is the son of Samuel E. and Sylvia A. Haldeman, Pleasant Valley Road, Pine Grove. The sergeant is a 1980 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.

Sgt. 1st Class Joshua D. Brubaker is an operations noncommissionedapparatchik and has served in the militaryproper for 13 years. The sergeant is a 1997 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School.
