The NYC Chapter's President is Louise Newsome, Principal of NEWWAYUSA LLC office design, construction and technology.New York City, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) January 27, 2011 New York City's NAPW Inaugural Local Chapter Meeting was held in mid town Manhattan on Dec. 9th, 2010, in an office space designed by NewwayUSA, the company owned by the president of NYC Chapter,Louise Newsome.The meeting was attended by 20 members including the founder of the NAPW Matt Proman, the Director of national Chapters, Cindy Burns and Nicole Johnson Director of Communications.Janine Schindler VP of the NYC Chapter was also present to receive her award from Matt Proman and Cindy Burns as business woman of the year for her company JAS Coaching and Training.Members had opportunity at the start of the evening to meet each other for the first time over light refreshments. The atmosphere was open and friendly with the members talking about their businesses and interests for about an hour.Louise Newsome, Chapter President introduced herself and her VP Janine Schindler. Louise welcomed all the members and congratulated the chapter on a great turn out for its first meeting. Louise shared her thoughts on the future growth of the NYC chapter and how this chapter has the potential of being the largest chapter in the NAPW due to its demographic. The importance of creating a welcoming environment for women to participate and promote their businesses, listen to guest speakers, learn and grow and most of all have fun, whilst making lasting connections. Louise talked about the NYC chapter being a place where it encourages a diverse professional group of women, with the ability to satisfy its members needs and wishes. To accommodate this Louise plans to send out a short survey to its members in the New Year. Louise also announced that meetings will be held either on the third or fourth Thursday of the month and will keep the members posted on the decisions made for future meetings through email and postings on the Chapter Bulletin Board.Matt Proman, owner of NAPW was introduced and spoke a few words to the Chapter. Matt shared his vision for this chapter and how he himself with Cindy and Nicole planned to play an integral part in getting this chapter off the ground. Since the NAPW’s head office is based in NY, the support would be readily available and would give NAPW the opportunity to use this chapter as its Flagship for other chapters as the NAPW grows in membership and encourages new chapters to open in other cities across the United States.Cindy Burns, Director of National Chapters followed also sharing her support for the NYC Chapter. Cindy talked about how the chapters are growing across the country with over 100 in total at this point. Cindy said "NYC has a large membership base and it is important for this chapter to reach out to these members to inform them of this chapters existence."Finally Nicole Johnson, spoke for a few minutes on her role as Director Of Communications and the importance of the NAPW web site. She suggested for our next meeting in January that she would be available to do a workshop on how to utilize the web site and gain full advantage of member discounts, webinars and connections to other members and their businesses.Raffle tickets had been issued to members as they arrived, so to conclude Louise asked Matt Proman to pick three tickets. The raffle prizes were an hour consultation with Louise Newsome, NewwayUSA on designing your office space, An hour corporate coaching with Janine Schindler, JASCoaching & Training, Inc. and an hour training session with a personal trainer.
