Listen for the gold. - Share your vision, your dreams, your projects with people. Express your vision as "our" vision. Tell people you want their support to make your common vision happen, their help to find resources (money, people, connections, time, suggestions, contacts). When appropriate, make a direct ask. Being a leader is equal to develop the capacity to ask for what is needed and to train and empower others to do the same.(for example, after you share your vision, you can say: being able to do this is going to require this much money/time/people).- Make promises to people and ask them to hold you accountable for those promised results. Remember that a promise is expressed as a "What and By When".- Encourage people to make promises to you (What and By When).
