LA DESTRA CALOLZIO

I believe

I've long believed that government leaders were missing the most salient argument regarding this issue. The UNFAIR and disproportionate taxation of those creating large wealth (often by hard work, risk-taking, and sacrifice)-- in order to pay for the unrelenting greed of some arrogant and irresponsible beauracrats cannot be considered a "moral high-ground." As a concept and practice, redistribution of wealth is not the Holy Grail of moral terpitude and societal responsibilbity. At its extreme, it often becomes a complicit and acceptable subterfuge for stealing from 'the rich' and giving to government legislators (not to 'the poor.') The question "When is enough enough?" is a viable concept to consider, and the issues of freedom and social justice FOR ALL must be considered.Surely there is no virtue in using visceral envy and class warfare as voter motivation. However, government leaders miss the mark by not articulating (in clear and compassionate terms) the moral hazards of government 'stealing' from any one segment of the population to cushion its coffers. (Robin Hood in reverse?)
