Add to My Contacts Block User Best Answer - Chosen by VotersTo stop Global Warming we would need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions world wide to less that one tenth of what they are today.To get reductions in carbon dioxide emissions that large we would have to shut down and destroy our modern economies.We would have to return to a rather primitive hunter gatherer existence. This is not realistic.More recycling, buying hybrid cars, buying cfls and all of the other minot things that people are told to do to reduce their carbon footprints will not get you anywhere closr to the reductions in carbon dioxide emissions that you need to stop Global Warming.We must accept the fact that Global Warming is part of our modern existence. We cannot stop it or prevent it.Fortunately we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming at reasonable cost.The sea levels will rise. fortunately coastal areas can be protected from flooding by the use of dike systems similar to those in Holland that hold back the sea.Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. We need to help the affected countries upgrade their disaster preparedness systems.Droughts will become more frequent. We will need to help the affected areas with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.We cannot stop Global Warming unless we are willing to shut down and destroy our economies.Fortunately we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming at reasonable cost if we start now..2 years ago 100% 1 Vote
