Mosca (Russia), 13 mar. (LaPresse/AP) - Il presidente russo Vladimir Putin ha proposto di ripristinare un programma di valutazione della forma fisica esistente ai tempi dell'Unione Sovietica. L'iniziativa, ha affermato Putin, insegnerebbe ai bambini a "battersi per se stessi, per le loro famiglie e, infine, per la loro patria". Il programma noto come Gto, acronimo russo di 'Pronti per il lavoro e per la difesa dell'Urss', fu introdotto da Josef Stalin nel 1931 e obbligava tutti gli studenti a passare regolarmente test mirati a misurare il livello della loro forma fisica. Chi riusciva a superare l'esame, riceveva un distintivo color oro o argento. Negli anni il programma perse d'importanza e fu abbandonato dopo il crollo dell'Unione sovietica nel 1991.
