The new band formed by former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows have announced details of a London venue residency. I Am Arrows will play the Old Blue Last venue in Shoreditch on May 17, June 8 and July 8. They will also play an acoustic set at the Rough Trade East store in Brick Lane in the UK capital on Record Store Day (April 17).
Oasis fans are being asked to contribute to a new documentary about the band being made by the team who worked on Blur's recent film 'No Distance Left To Run'. The film, which is being made by Pulse Films in conjunction with the band's own Big Brother Recordings label, is aiming to tell the story of Oasis from their fans' perspective. As a result, devotees of all ages are asked to contribute, as outlined on the band's official website, Oasisinet.com. Those interested are asked to send an email to oasis@pulsefilms.co.uk with their contact details and a short summary of their favourite story about how Oasis have affected them personally. Oasis are also set to release a singles collection, 'Time Flies', on June 14.
Adam Green is set to stage his first art show in New York. The former man will stage Teen Tech at the city's Morrison Hotel Gallery between April 22-23. The exhibition will feature 12 sculptures, 18 large paintings and 20 collages by Green with a portions of the sales going to charity Artists For Peace And Justice, which was recently backed by the likes of The Strokes and Vampire Weekend, in an arts and crafts fundraiser for Haiti organized by Little Joy's Binki Shapiro. “Teen Tech is an art show I've prepared over the last year-and-a-half. Perhaps because I'm an entertainer in showbiz, I found myself trying to make this art show more entertaining than average," declared Green of the show. He added: "It focuses on cartoon subjects. I don't often read comics but I've always liked to draw cartoons. I contend that all artists work in caricature. The pieces in Teen Tech are caricatures of cartoons, which I feel distill the subjects down to their bare essence.” The art show coincides with two hometown shows at the city's Bowery Ballroom on April 23 and 24.
Outkast are working on new material for the first time in nearly four years. The duo are working on a new album, their first since the soundtrack album 'Idlewild'. "That's all top secret information right now. We can't let people know what we're doing. You better know that something is brewing," rapper Big Boi told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe of their work so far. The rapper added that his bandmate Andre 3000 would also appear on his solo album 'Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty', which is due out later this year. "He's on the record, he makes two appearances," confirmed Big Boi. "He also produced a track on it that's crazy, bananas, one of the last songs I'm recording right now. There are a lot of surprises on it."
