To warm up the crowd, the mc brought out a ufc fighter named chael sonnen, a contender for the ufc middleweight title who, when he isn't trying to beat an opponent into submission, also happens to be a real estate agent and a candidate for state representative in oregon's house district 37.Sonnen is a republican:Make of that what you will.He was square-Jawed and good-Looking, and, for a person whose job it is to beat people up, was surprisingly funny and eloquent. "The big way to get ufc legalized,"Sonnen said,"Is to say,'look, it's not brutal and it's not barbaric.' I went the other way.I said,'it's not?This is absolutely barbaric!Of course this is brutal!' "But we don't have to apologize for either.Ufc is the only sport that has violence in it?Other sports are fraught with it.Football?[Fans] are looking for violence.
