(Adnkronos) - ''Io ho gia' avuto qualche attacco quando ho sottolineato la necessita' di portare nelle chiese le grandi composizioni sacre che sono tra i capisaldi della letteratura musicale, e anche di riportare un certo decoro nelle musiche da fare in chiesa, perche' credo che la musica abbia un certo potere di elevare lo spirito di chi viene a pregare in chiesa''. Parola di Riccardo Muti, che oggi si e' confrontato con il presidente del Pontificio Consiglio della Cultura, il cardinale Gianfranco Ravasi, su 'In dialogo: fede e musica', moderati dal direttore de 'Il Messaggero', Mario Orfeo, dentro alla basilica di Santa Maria in Ara Coeli a Roma. Muti ha ricordato che la sua prima esibizione e' avvenuta in chiesa e che il suo primo 'Requiem' di Verdi l'ha diretto nella basilica di San Lorenzo a Firenze. ''Li' c'e' la cupola di Brunelleschi -ha detto il direttore d'orchestra- le tombe Medicee, l'altare del Verrocchio e il pulpito di Donatello. Basta questo per dire agli altri Paesi: 'Signo', una situazione come questa non l'avrete, potete avere grattacieli o altro ma questo no''', ha concluso accolto da uno scroscio di applausi. E ha parlato dell'impossibilita' di non essere colti dal dubbio, anche se si e' atei, quando si dirigono musiche sacre. ''Non si puo' mettere qualsiasi musica all'interno di una chiesa, la dimensione sacrale deve essere sempre custodita'', ha detto il cardinale Ravasi, prendendo le distanze dall'uso delle composizioni sciatte che per anni hanno accompagnato la liturgia. ''La musica deve tornare all'interno dei seminari -ha detto Ravasi- per poi far capire ai sacerdoti quali musiche devono essere eseguite nelle chiese, senza confondere la comprensibilita' delle composizioni con la banalita', come avviene oggi. Ma la musica -ha concluso- deve anche riuscire a registrare il mutamento e l'evoluzione dei tempi, come avvenne con la polifonia quando sostitui' il gregoriano.
