WRMI che attraverso i suoi trasmettitori di Okeechobee in Florida già ritrasmette in onda corta i programmi di radio Praga e Radio Slovakia International, ha annunciato che dal prossimo 25 settembre 2014 ripeterà anche i programmi di Radio Ukraine International. Come è noto l'Ukraina aveva abbandonato le onde corte già da alcuni anni, ma evidentemente, a causa della situazione geopolitica delle regioni orientali di questa nazione, i responsabili delle comunicazioni hanno deciso di ritornare sulle onde corte con una trasmissione in inglese destinata al nord America a partire dalle 23.30 UTC fino alle 24.00 sulla frequenza di 11580 KHz. Questo il Comunicato di WRMI:NEWS RELEASE - September 23, 2014 WRMI to Begin Relay of Radio Ukraine International Shortwave station WRMI in Okeechobee, Florida will begin a daily relay transmission of the English-language program of Radio Ukraine International on Thursday, September 25, 2014 on the frequency of 11580 kHz from 2330-0000 UTC. This transmission will be directed primarily to eastern North America, although it will likely be audible in Europe as well. "We are pleased to be able to provide this service to shortwave listeners at a time when much of the world's focus is on the situation in the Ukraine," said Jeff White, WRMI General Manager.
