There's something for everyone as we celebrate spring at the Second Annual May Day on Saturday May 7, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ. This free family event features music and entertainment; hands-on nature activities; live animal demonstrations; displays from local organizations - all surrounded by 276 acres of scenic woodland, field and floodplain habitat supporting some 200 species of wildlife ready for you to explore. Stop by the registration table, pick up an Event Program, and dive into the May Day activities.

Bring the kids for lots of fun nature crafts and games for the little ones. The Nature's Treasure Hunt and free face painting provided by local Girl Scout Troops. Special childrens' wildlife radio telemetry classes let children track wildlife on the grounds of the Sanctuary. The classes will show how professional wildlife biologists track all kinds of species on their travels around the world.And a special visit by Ranger Rick himself to meet the kids.

Jackson Hewitt sues H&R Block over ads

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc sued H&R Block Inc to stop a new advertising campaign that it said misleads customers about tax refund loans and disparages Jackson Hewitt's competence.

The lawsuit comes on the eve of the main U.S. tax filing season, a crucial period for the largest U.S. tax preparation companies because the February-to-April quarter generates the bulk of their annual revenue and profit.

H&R Block did not immediately respond to a request for a comment.

According to the complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, both companies provide "refund anticipation loans" to taxpayers who want access to expected refunds within eight to 15 days, in exchange for a fee.

Jackson Hewitt said that unlike its larger rival, it also offers taxpayers access to as much as $1,500 within one day.

Last month, H&R Block suffered a setback when the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ordered a partner, HSBC Holdings Plc, to stop making tax refund loans to H&R Block customers.

To negate its disadvantage, according to the complaint, H&R Block is falsely claiming that its "Second Look Review" service found that two-thirds of prior tax returns prepared by Jackson Hewitt contained mistakes.

"H&R Block's 2 out of 3 claim necessarily implies the false claim that two out of three Jackson Hewitt customers who are entitled to refunds have been short-changed due to Jackson Hewitt errors or incompetence," the complaint said.

Jackson Hewitt also said H&R Block gives its agents a script designed to deceive them about its loan service.

Saying the ad campaign is causing "irreparable harm," Jackson Hewitt is seeking to halt the alleged improper ads. It is also seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Jackson Hewitt said it prepared 2.53 million U.S. tax returns in 2010 H&R Block prepared 20.1 million U.S. returns in its 2010 fiscal year. H&R Block is based in Kansas City, Missouri, and Jackson Hewitt in Parsippany, New Jersey.

In morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, Jackson Hewitt shares rose 1 cent to $1.58, and H&R Block shares fell 3 cents to $12.47.

The lawsuit is Jackson Hewitt Inc v. H&R Block Tax Services LLC, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 11-00641.

Galifianakis to join Ryan Reynolds in "R.I.P.D."

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Zach Galifianakis is finally ready to join the dead.

The comedian has been circling "R.I.P.D.," a supernatural action comedy about a ghost-busting police force, since the fall.

This week, the actor took a step toward the light, entering serious talks to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in Universal's adaptation of the Dark Horse comic.

"R.I.P.D." follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. Robert Schwentke ("Red") will direct.

If a deal is made, Galifianakis would play Reynolds' partner, a wise-cracking officer who's been hunting spirits since the 1800s. Galifianakis next stars in "The Hangover Part 2," which opens May 26.

New York Times To Publish E-Book About WikiLeaks

The New York Times announced Wednesday that it plans to publish its first e-book, titled Open Secrets: WikiLeaks, War and American Diplomacy, about last year's WikiLeaks releases.

The e-book will describe how and why the Times came to publish the documents, and include "expanded profiles" of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Bradley Manning, the Army private who was charged in July 2010 for allegedly supplying Assange with the classified information. (Manning is currently being held in "maximum custody" at the Marine Corps Brig in Quantico, Virginia.) It will reprint many of the cables and war logs alongside "detailed analyses" of those documents, as well as explore the impact WikiLeaks has had on American diplomacy and government secrecy, the Times said in a .

The e-book will be made available through major e-booksellers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the Google eBookstore and Apple's iBookstore, on January 31 -- just 11 days before the physical copy ofhits shelves.
