Quinnipiac defeats St. Francis (N.Y.) 74-60

NEW YORK – Deontay Twyman scored 20 points and Quinnipiac won its third game in a row by defeating St. Francis (N.Y.) 74-60 on Thursday night.

The Bobcats (15-7, 7-4 Northeast Conference) nearly got a double-double out of James Johnson, who had 16 points and nine rebounds. Lance Brown grabbed 12 rebounds as Quinnipiac, whose 41.7-rebound average is fourth in the nation, won the battle of the boards 50-30.

Justin Rutty added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Ricky Cadell led St. Francis with 16 points, but was only 4 of 16 from the field. The Terriers shot 33.3 percent from the field (21 of 63). Travis Nichols added 15 points. Akeem Bennett, who had 28 in Saturday's win at Fairleigh Dickinson, was held to four points, 10.3 below his average.

Quinnipiac committed 18 turnovers to St. Francis' nine, but when it came to scoring off them, the Terriers only gained two points (15-13).

Yes, I'm aware of the irony of a publication called PCWorld covering a piece of Mac software, but this one was too fun to resist. Cathode is a new app that lets you access Mac OS X's Unix-based command line. While that in itself is nothing special--OS X has always shipped with a Terminal app--Cathode simulates the experience of using a command line on an old green CRT.

The app itself is $20, but you can try it out for free...with a catch. If unless you get a license, the display quality will degrade as you use it, much like an old CRT screen fritzes out as it ages. (If you pay the license fee, you can adjust the degree to which the quality degrades.

OK, so it's a bit of a gimmick, and whether you think it's worth the $20 is up to you, but it's one of the nerdiest apps we've seen recently. If you're interested, .

Keith Olbermann Breaks Silence on Twitter

KeithOlbermann, formerly of MSNBC, kept silent on his future plans for allof four days.On hisJan. 25, Olbermann claimed he wasstarting a new online presence.The left-leaning liberal commentator isapparently ready to make a run at Fox News Channel -- the name of his newTwitter feed is FOKNewsChannel.

IfGlenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh or Rosie O'Donnell are any indicationOlbermann can be on the Internet and radio in the span it takes for hisnine months to elapse.He's in New York City, the king of radiobroadcast cities.He could even just have regular podcasts too sincethey are slowly replacing radio as the voice of the people.

IfOlbermann's rants are to be believed, FOK sounds like a naughty wordyou're not supposed to say on the air.His humor is still intact andhopefully his penchant for not playing nice with Fox News will alsoshine through his Twitter feed.

On Twitter, Olbermann won't have any studio executives breathing down his neck.Instead of filing for free agency, Olbermann just went out and created his own league in which to play.Before him is an entire stadium of screaming fans to play to each and every day without any owners telling him how to play, where his pitch needs to be located or how to hit his corners.Olbermann just became owner, general manager, star pitcher and superstar slugger of his own major league. He even owns the umpires and the concession stands where he can charge a dime for beer and peanuts.

In a way, the Internet is a better field of dreams for Olbermann than the antiquated medium of television.When you come to FOK News Park in Twitter City you will be treated to the real Keith Olbermann, nothing less.

OT Shawn Andrews missed practice with back issue

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – There's another injury on the New York Giants' offensive line.

Tackle Shawn Andrews, who has replaced the injured David Diehl at left tackle, missed practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed back problem.

Coach Tom Coughlin did not mention Andrews' injury during his morning news conference.

Second-year pro Will Beatty, who just returned to the lineup on Sunday after being sidelined since the season opener with a broken foot, would be the logical choice to replace Andrews.

A former Pro Bowler with the Philadelphia Eagles, Andrews was signed by the Giants at the end of training camp.

The Giants (6-3) will face the Eagles (6-3) on Sunday night in Philadelphia.

Doctors had no good news for Coughlin on the status of Diehl (hamstring-hip) and center Shaun O'Hara (foot), who both did not practice on Wednesday.

Steve Smith, who set a single-season team record for receptions last season with 107, will not play on Sunday. He partially tore a pectoral muscle in practice on Thursday.

"It's probably going to be a couple of weeks," said Smith, who hopes to return against Washington on Dec. 5. "It was a crazy freakish accident."

Smith said he was hurt making a catch in an awkward position.

"I just fell on it, like a normal fall," said Smith, who had 47 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Starting cornerback Corey Webster was limited by a toe injury.
