Syria feels squeeze from UN and the West

Post n°76 pubblicato il 11 Maggio 2011 da shuaguo25

Syrian President Bashar al Assad’s international image suffered a black eye on Tuesday, as his violent crackdown against protesters brought a slap from western countries at the UN and European Union. It followed a day when Syrian tanks and troops entered several southern villages amid heavy gunfire,传奇私服 and the military sealed off areas where they conducted house-to-house raids seeking people on wanted lists. The international backlash was felt in Geneva, where Syria reportedly lost the battle for a seat on the UN Human Rights Council. In Brussels, the European Union slapped sanctions on key members of the regime, including Assad’s brother Maher. For Assad, who casts himself as a “young reformer” hampered by a conservative regime, 传世私服 the latest blows will hit home. “The Syrian people deserve that Human Rights Council seat, but this regime would only abuse it,” said Abdalla Rifai of the Washington-based Syrian Emergency Task Force, which will file a U.S. lawsuit against regime members on Wednesday, for human rights abuses. Kuwait is expected to fill the prestigious UN seat Syria was set to win by acclamation before the uprising began. Diplomats, who refused to be named because an official announcement had not been made, told reporters on Tuesday that Syria would withdraw its candidacy before the May 20 election, 诛仙私服 under pressure from western countries who have been waging a weeks-long campaign to oust Damascus. “It would be a clear signal to Syria that it needs to change course,” said Peggy Hicks, Human Rights Watch’s global advocacy director in New York. “Syria’s policy of violent repression has raised international concern.” Western-educated Assad, who cultivates a benign international image, has lost credibility in Syria as killings and assaults on protesters mounted. He has portrayed himself as a fighter against “terrorist gangs” and “foreigners” who are undermining Syria’s stability, 传奇私服 新开传奇私服 while keeping foreign journalists from covering the uprisings and restricting communications inside the country. But with the mounting violence, the protesters’ calls for reform have been replaced by growing demands that Assad step down. Syria’s National Organization for Human Rights said it had documented the deaths of 757 civilians killed by the Assad regime in the seven weeks since protests began. It said thousands have been detained and 9,000 are still behind bars. However, Syrian forces on Tuesday released 300 people who had been arrested in Banias since tanks stormed residential areas in the coastal city last week. In an apparent last-ditch attempt to buff his international image,魔域私服 Assad allowed a New York Times reporter into the country for an interview with an adviser, who said the regime had now weathered the storm of the protests. “I hope we are witnessing the end of the story,” the adviser said. But Assad’s cousin, tycoon Rami Makhlouf, told the newspaper the regime was prepared to fight to the end. And he said Israel’s stability was at stake if it lost, raising fears of a provocation from Syrian-backed Hezbollah along Israel’s border. The struggle for the Human Rights Council seat began weeks after the regional group of Asian nations had nominated Syria as one of four countries that would fill four uncontested seats in the 47-member body that monitors violations of human rights worldwide. But the January nomination was superseded by the violence,传奇私服 传奇私服发布网 and Syria was pressured to withdraw. It refused in the hope of riding out the opposition. But that hope appeared at an end Tuesday, as diplomats said that Syria would fail to get the necessary votes for council membership and was likely to withdraw.

What is a Brain Cancer ?

Post n°75 pubblicato il 09 Maggio 2011 da shuaguo25

Brain cancer is that malignant disease of the brain where cancer cells multiply in the brain tissues. The tissues that are formed due to cancerous cell division forms a mass index of tumor inside the brain’s soft and spongy material and it interferes with the proper brain tissue functioning to control muscles of the brain; Sensations through sensory nerves and veins; MLB Jerseys NFL Jerseys etc. Tumors that are composed of cancerous cells are called as `Malignant Tumors` whereas non-cancerous cells are known as `Benign tumor cells`. The effect of brain cancers and tumors all around the globe has reached to a toll of 20,000 infected patients worldwide (per year). `Metastasis Brain cancers` are those cancerous cells of the brain that are formed or developed in some other organ of the body for ex: The Lung. The primary cancer tissues of the Lungs travel through a bloodstream and reach up to brain section where they collect in large numbers and starts spreading or multiply in huge numbers as sheltered cancerous cells of the brain. Metastasis tumor of the brain is more common than primary brain tumor cancer cells. As brain is protected by bones of the skull there are three thin membranes called as `meninges`. The cushioning up of the brain is controlled by the watery fluid named as cerebrospinal fluid. 传奇私服 This fluid flows through spaces between the meninges and through spaces within the brain called Brain Ventricles. An electromagnetic resonance pulse or network carries the signals to various sections of the body through electrically charged veins or muscles and it’s the brain itself that controls the voluntary and involuntary movements of the body. As the complex connections of the nerves are connected to eyes; ears; etc. then there is always a 100% certainty that the cancerous cells be transferred to such body organs and affecting them in large numbers. The spinal cord is the major transportation of cancerous cells to send signals to the brain as it is connected to the main functioning process of the brain. The brain is also in charge of our senses (sight, 传世私服 传奇世界私服 hearing, touch, taste, and smell), memory, emotions, and personality, etc. The three major parts of brain works accordingly to match the movements and other sections to have absolute control such as: Cerebrum; Cerebellum and Brain Stem cells. There is a specific adjustment to all the three parts as one may control the Reading; Thinking; Speech; Learning and Emotions, the other is for controlling the activities like: Walking, Hunger(food and thirst), breathing, blood pressure, Bodily temperature and other functions. The tumors that are easily visible to surgeon’s naked eye are such tumors that can be surgically removed with no long term effects but there are certain aloof corners of the brain that are specific and found in a localized area which is surrounded by millions and millions 诛仙私服 诛仙sf of soft-spongy brain tissues they are called upon as `Encapsulated Brain Tumors`. In order to make the Brain surgery simple and to avoid complexities by a neurosurgeon there are certain medical terminologies used to specify different cancer or tumors of the brain according to their acuteness and disastrous capabilities therefore, neurosurgeons have come up with an idea to form a `Grade` system for mentioning every type of contingencies of the brain. The grade is formed in two aspects:传世私服 传奇世界私服 Lower grade (Grade I) and High Grade (Grade IV). The microscopically advanced tumor requires the grades by the neurosurgeon. Cells from high-grade tumors look more abnormal and generally grow faster than cells from low-grade tumors.

Fluid Retention - An underlying physiological problem

Post n°74 pubblicato il 05 Maggio 2011 da shuaguo25

Approximately 60% of our body is made up of water. From the minute cells to the vital organs and skeletal structure, our body’s proper functioning depends on water balance. The regulatory mechanisms of our body, such as the heart and kidneys,传奇世界私服 are responsible for keeping the amount of fluid in the body at a constant level. Therefore, when dehydration and fluid retention occurs they may indicate an underlying physiological problem. Swelling is the body’s immediate response to any injury—whether it’s an ankle sprain or a burn, or the lack of mobility, even the bloated legs and ankles during pregnancy or before the monthly period, it may have a number of causes. But once the minor swelling is not treated it will lead to further fluid accumulation which may compromise function of the joints and other parts of the body. Therefore as soon as you notice some swelling in one part or another, 传奇私服 here are a few tips that will help you bring down fluid retention. Keep moving The lack of exercise is a common cause for swelling, especially in the legs. Avoid sitting for long periods at work or even inside the plane. Get up, stretch your extremities and walk around for a few paces every now and then. For those people who have a limited mobility, try flexing the knees and ankles, and wiggling the toes if possible. Using your muscles will help prevent pooling of blood and interstitial fluid. Likewise, minimize crossing your legs as this can restrict the blood flow and aggravate swelling. Raise it Raising the extremity above the heart means allowing the fluid to drain down by means of gravity.诛仙私服 This is as beneficial as moving the extremity as well. Get some leg support Occupations that require standing and sitting for long hours are most likely to develop leg swelling and varicose veins due to the increased pressure of the fluid inside leg blood vessels and capillaries. Prescription support stockings (i.e. anti-embolic stockings) are available with various degrees of compression. There are also over-the-counter support hose as well. But be careful about excessively constricting hose as you’ll end up doing more harm than good. Watch out for sodium Where sodium goes, water follows. This principle of human anatomy and physiology tells us that increased sodium intake causes the body to retain fluid. So cut down sodium in the diet, avoid junk food, and minimize dairy products, root crops, and canned goods. 传奇世界私服 传奇私服发布网 Consult your dietician about the parameters of a low sodium diet. The proper weight Overweight and obese people have a greater chance of acquiring almost all diseases, so as edema. Improve your circulation Both exercise and a massage can help improve your body’s circulation. For a localized minor swelling, try massaging the site gently. You and your medication Some drugs like birth control pills can cause also water retention. Avoid tight garments Tight jeans and constricting clothing can result into applying pressure on the extremities and restrict blood flow. But if the swelling affects the whole body, Browns Jerseys Montreal Expos Jerseys Oakland Athletics Jerseys Washington Nationals Jerseys or is a minor swelling that does not subside within a few days, or you suspect deeper injuries, always consult your Doctor.

From a Qaddafi Daughter, a Glimpse Inside the Bunker

Post n°73 pubblicato il 28 Aprile 2011 da shuaguo25

Aisha el-Qaddafi, the daughter of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi of Libya, likes to tell her three young children bedtime stories about the afterlife. Now, she says, they are especially appropriate. “To make them ready,” she said, “because in a time of war you never know when a rocket or a bomb might hit you, and that will be the end.” In a rare interview at her charitable foundation here, Ms. Qaddafi, 36, a Libyan-trained lawyer who once worked on Saddam Hussein’s legal defense team, offered a glimpse into the fatalistic mind-set of the increasingly isolated family at the core of the battle for Libya, 传奇世界私服 传世私服 1.76精品传奇 the bloodiest arena in the democratic uprising that is sweeping the region. She dismissed the rebels as “terrorists” but suggested that some former Qaddafi officials who are now in the opposition’s governing council still “keep in touch with us.” She pleaded for dialogue and talked about democratic reforms. But she dismissed the rebels as unfit for such talks because of their use of violence, hurled personal barbs at President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and, at one point, appeared to disparage the basic idea of electoral democracy. After arranging the interview last week, Ms. Qaddafi spoke for more than an hour late Sunday afternoon, just hours before NATO escalated its airstrikes with an attack that disrupted state television and another on the Libyan leader’s compound in Tripoli. Ms. Qaddafi, one of the many unofficial and sometimes rivalrous Qaddafi family power brokers who dominate Libya’s economic and political life, said the crisis had pulled the family together “like one hand.” Ms. Qaddafi said that she and her seven brothers “have a dialogue between us and exchange points of view” before anyone takes a major step in their common defense. She acknowledged that she had seen news reports that her siblings had proposed easing their father from power in a transition under the direction of her brother Seif al-Islam, but she declined to comment on the details. She also pointedly declined to answer when asked if Abdel Fattah Younes, 传世私服 a top rebel military official who was a longtime interior minister, was among the leaders who had kept in touch with the Qaddafi family. “They say to us that they have their own families, daughters, sons, spouses, and they fear for them, and that is why they have taken those positions,” she said of those rebel leaders. “There are many members of the council who have worked with my father for 42 years and been loyal to him. Do you think they would just go like that?” Instead of the angry defiance and vows of retribution issued by her father and her brother Seif, Ms. Qaddafi focused on how the West would rue the chaos she predicted would engulf a post-Qaddafi Libya. When pressed repeatedly on how her family could stay in power, she said more than once, “We have a great hope in God.” Ms. Qaddafi has appeared in public twice since the bombings began, before cheering crowds at the colonel’s compound, but she seldom speaks in public. During the interview, she wore close-fitting jeans, Gucci shoes and a pale scarf that did not cover her long blond hair. At times, she laughed at her fate, recalling how the United Nations, after “begging” her to be an envoy for peace in the past, has now referred her to the International Criminal Court. 诛仙私服 Her staff presented an illustrated biography entitled “Princess of Peace.” She said her experience as a volunteer on Saddam Hussein’s defense team offered relevant parallels. “The opposition in Iraq told the West that when you come to Iraq they will greet you with roses,” she said. “Almost 10 years later they are receiving the Americans with bullets, and, believe me, the situation in Libya will be much worse.” She taunted both President Obama and Mrs. Clinton, saying that Mr. Obama had “achieved nothing so far” and laughing as she posed a question to Mrs. Clinton: “Why didn’t you leave the White House when you found out about the cheating of your husband?” Even as she deprecated the American leaders, she repeatedly called for talks. “The world should come together at a round table,” she said, “under the auspices of international organizations.” At the same time, 诛仙sf 传奇私发服网 she ruled out any dialogue with the Libyan rebels who now control the eastern half of the country; its commercial center, Misurata; and the western mountain towns of Zintan and Nalut, dismissing them as “terrorists” who “are just fighting for the sake of fighting.” Under her brother Seif’s unofficial leadership, she said, the Libyan government had been on the verge of unveiling a constitution as a step toward democratic reform when “this tragedy happened and spoiled things.” At the same time, she also derided, and possibly misunderstood, the basic ideas of checks and balances and public accountability in an electoral democracy. “Let me say something about the Western elections that they say are a democratic system of ruling,” she volunteered, referring to handwritten notes she had prepared for the interview. In an election where one candidate won with 50 percent of the vote and another lost with 48 percent, she asked,传奇私服 “Do you call this democracy? Just this one vote? What happened to the 48 percent who said ‘no’?” She complained of the “betrayal” of Arabs whose causes her father had supported and the Western allies to whom he had turned over his weapons of mass destruction. “Is this the reward that we get?” she asked. “This would lead every country that has weapons of mass destruction to keep them or make more so they will not meet the same fate as Libya.” Without Colonel Qaddafi, she predicted, illegal immigrants from Africa would pour into Europe, Islamic radicals would establish a base on the Mediterranean’s shores, and Libyan tribes would turn their guns on one another. Citing unconfirmed Libyan intelligence reports, she asserted that the weapons-starved rebels had actually sold arms to the Islamist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. “When my father was there, see how safe Europe was and how safe Libya was?”传奇私服 新开传奇私服 she asked. Ms. Qaddafi initially dismissed reports of the handful of nights two months ago when protesters took over the streets of Tripoli and almost every other big city, pulling down Qaddafi posters and burning police stations. Then, told that journalists had seen the evidence, she argued the destruction proved they were not civilian protesters but “saboteurs.” She also appeared to dismiss witnesses’ accounts of Colonel Qaddafi’s forces shooting unarmed demonstrators. “I am not sure that happened,” she said. “But let’s say it did: it was limited in scope.” As for her father’s state of mind, http://faabbs.gkcity.com/showtopic-12093.aspx http://bbs.hdeso.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=90995 http://www.flash512.com/fx/space-uid-12577.html http://www.sztsz.com/?21750 http://www.yx30.com/space-uid-49177.html she said with a laugh that he was not worried at all. “He is as strong as the world knows him,” she said. “He is quite sure that the Libyan people are loyal to him.” Her family still hoped, she said, to go back to its previous position, what she called “a return to normal.” But, she added, “of course we can expedite that if NATO will stop bombing us.”

Dark floating veins

Post n°72 pubblicato il 22 Aprile 2011 da shuaguo25

Question : I HAVE floating veins that are dark in colour at the lower and upper knee. 传奇私服 传奇sf What can be done about this condition? Answer : FLOATING VEINS or varicose veins refer to abnormally dilated or swollen veins, especially in the lower part of the body, such as the legs and feet. Veins that are varicose may be identified as dark purple or blue in colour (due to a lack of oxygen) and may appear twisted and bulging. Varicose veins may be due to malfunction of the one-way valve within the veins and poor blood circulation. 诛仙私服 As you age, the veins lose their elasticity. As blood circulation contributes to the formation of varicose veins, they are more common in people who stay in one position for prolonged periods of time and those who lack regular exercise. You may increase your daily vitamin C intake. Vitamin C, coupled with bioflavonoids, help to maintain the structural integrity of the blood capillaries and connective tissues.
