MILANO (Reuters) - Il 2013 potrebbe essere un anno decisivo per capire se la zona euro sar in grado di emergere dalla crisi finanziaria. Lo sostiene Standard & Poor's in un report dedicato alle prospettive della crisi del debito nell'anno appena iniziato.
Per quel che riguarda in particolare l'Italia, l'agenzia punta i riflettori sulle imminenti elezioni politiche, definite tra le più importanti dell'anno insieme a quelle tedesche e austriache.
"Nella nostra visione una vittoria delle forze populiste e anti-europeiste in Italia andrebbe a detrimento del processo di correzione in atto nella zona euro, specialmente se la stessa appartenenza all'eurozona dovesse essere messa in discussione" scrive S&P, che tuttavia sottolinea come i sondaggi non danno attualmente questo scenario come probabile.
"Continuiamo ritenere che un'uscita del paese dalla zona euro rimanga improbabile. La nostra assunzione resta quindi che una sostanziale continuit di politica economica prevarr in Italia" prosegue l'agenzia.
S&P - che prevede per il 2013 una contrazione del Pil italiano dello 0,7% e il raggiungimento di un picco sul fronte del rapporto debito/pil - intravede anche la possibilit di una conclusione del trend di riduzione dei rating sovrani della zona euro, partito nel 2004 e che ha coinvolto tra i vari paesi anche l'Italia.
"Riteniamo che man mano che l'anno procede la visibilit della risposta economica, politica e sociale alla crisi diventer più chiara" scrive S&P. "Se i rischi menzionati non dovessero materializzarsi e la coesione sociale riuscisse ad andare di pari passo ad una disciplinata implementazione delle politiche e ad un progresso nel ribilanciamento fiscale ed economico, ci sarebbe la prospettiva realistica per ritenere che la discesa del merito di credito della zona euro si sia arrestata".
S&P ha un rating BBB+ sull'Italia, con outlook negativo.
