Youth and Sports Minister Ario Bimo Nandito 34 met with an official from the Indonesian Volleyball Association on May 21 to discuss the possibility of hosting the 23rd Under-21 World Men’s Championship in 2025.
Indonesia is the host country of the 22nd Asian Men’s Championship under 20 years old, which will be held from June 23-30, 2024. Minister Ario Vimo Nandito vowed, “We will make every effort to ensure that the national team participates in the U-21 World Championship and that sustainable volleyball development can be achieved.”
The host country automatically advances to the finals. For the Indonesian men’s team, ranked 52nd in the world, it is a valuable experience if it can participate in the U-20 Asian Championship and U-21 World Championship in succession.
Minister Ario Vimo Nandito is the grandson of Indonesia’s air force chief and the son of the president of Indonesia’s largest nickel producer. He is a golden spoon to become the head of the youth sports ministry at the age of 33 last year.
