John Mayer – “The Search For Everything” (Columbia, 2017).

The Search for Everything by American singer John Mayer, is John’s seventh studio album. The Search for Everything was preceded by the release of two EPs each featuring four new songs from the album. The album’s lead single, “Love on the Weekend”, was released in November 2016. The first wave, The Search for Everything: Wave One, was released on January 20, 2017. The second wave, The Search for Everything: Wave Two was released in February 2017. On January 30, 2017, John Mayer announced his headlining arena tour, The Search for Everything Tour, which is set to take place in North America in 2017. On February 24, Mayer announced 30 more tour dates for the trek.

François & The Atlas Mountains – “Solide Mirage” (Domino Records, 2017).

Un sorriso grande grande come un gigantesco emotic-ghost da Facebook, una musica da Calibou, un amore per il French Touch e per la partitura francese (“Je veux voir la France [telle qu’elle est]”); un débordage smart sempre più smart del “Il Volo Love” (2012) e “Piano Ombre” (2014), gli album indie folk e afrobeat che finora li hanno fatto conoscere al mondo intero, una partenza accelerante e spiazzante come con il singolo in apertura “Grand Dérèglement”… E il resto è un regalo al tempo che passa e non ci concediamo (il fischiettato in “1982”, i synth e i cori in “100.000.000”). Da riascoltare, ancora e ancora. In attesa di altri momenti cosi.

Lenka – “The Bright Side” (Sony Music, 2015).

Il suo è un pop raffinato e d’autore. Non ci si stanca di ascoltarlo, forse perché variabile, forse perché si adatta facilmente all’estate che sta per arrivare: ricco di colori, calore e sonorità, Lenka (australiana) è qui al suo quarto album solista, pubblicato il 16 June 2015. Cosi lontano, eppure cosi contemporaneo.
