How to use the new screenshot tool in Edge

Currently, Microsoft Office is the best browser for both Windows and cell phones. In another of several updates to Microsoft’s systems, the Edge browser itself gained a new feature. However, many don’t know how to activate and use this new feature. It’s intended entirely for prints, but with many more tools and features. Let’s see more about it below.

In order for the tutorial that we are going to see to really work, it is important that you check that your browser and that your Windows is up to date, also, if is necessary, to clear cookies, passwords and history. If not, it’s likely that the steps we’re going to see below won’t work the way they should..

With that in mind, follow the steps below and learn how to use the new screenshot tool in Edge:

  1. Getting to Know More About Edge

Before using the new feature itself, you must activate it, but to do so you need to access some special browser settings. To do this, type edge://flags in the address bar.

Then, in the search tab of that page itself, look for the Microsoft Edge Screenshot feature. Tap on the window on the right and switch it to Enabled. Then click Restart

  1. Testing

  1. After the browser closes and opens, right-click anywhere on the page, and see if the Screenshot feature is displaying as in the image.
  1. Getting to know more about the feature

  1. Then, select the part of the screen you want to print. With that done, you’ll be able to add icons like rectangles, circles, and arrows. Take notes using pencil or typing. Plus, you can share what’s been printed anywhere you want.

  1. Even more features

  1. The last three icons are also important for the print feature, the first one allows you to download the print, the second one cancels the print, and the last one makes a copy of the print for you to paste anywhere.

With these steps, you’ll have learned how to use Edge’s new feature. However, with its recent updates, more things have come to the browser and other things have come out as well. Let’s see more about it below.

What’s coming and what’s coming out in the new Edge updates?

Regarding the new features, the Microsoft Edge for Business Banner was announced, where admins can control the availability of the Microsoft Edge for Business banner in the product using the PromotionalTabsEnabled policy.

A new feature allows sync users to restore bookmarks they have lost or deleted in the last 14 days from bookmarks. Users can access this feature from the Microsoft Edge bookmarks hub or from the edge://favorites page.

Another feature is autocomplete that helps you fill out form fields faster on the web.

When you start typing in a form field, Microsoft Edge suggests possible inline completions when there’s an exact match to your saved data in the browser.

For example, if you type the first few characters of the address, autocomplete will suggest the rest of the address. However, it’s not just good things that happened in the update.

Two features have been removed from the browser, which are:

  • Web Select: Feature will no longer be an option in Web Capture or by keyboard shortcut.
  • More tools: To simplify the menu, Microsoft has taken away five features which are Math Solver, Picture Dictionary, Citations, Grammar Tools, and Kids Mode.

Microsoft also announced policy updates in the new version of Edge. As well as resources, new policies have come in while some old ones have left.

Check out the new policies below:

  • AllowSystemNotifications: Allows toast notifications
  • BeforeunloadEventCancelByPreventDefaultEnabled: Control the behavior of the cancel dialog box produced by the beforeunload event
  • EdgeWalletEtreeEnabled: Edge Wallet electronic tree enabled
  • GamerModeEnabled: Enable gamer mode
  • SearchbarAllowed: Enable the search bar
  • SearchbarIsEnabledOnStartup: Allow search bar on Windows startup
  • ShowHistoryThumbnails: Show thumbnail images for browsing history
  • UploadFromPhoneEnabled: Enable phone upload files on the Microsoft Edge desktop.

The policies that came out of Edge were:

  • WebWidgetAllowed: Enable the search bar
  • WebWidgetIsEnabledOnStartup: Allow the search bar on Windows startup

With all these new features, it is possible to understand what arrives and what leaves the browser. Keep in mind that many of these features are available in Both Windows 10 and Windows 11. However, it is important to always check for new updates on the system and in the browser as already said.

Now tell us, did you manage to follow all the steps we saw? Did you have any doubts or difficulties in following the steps we saw in the print feature tutorial? Let us know in the comments below and share it with others who also use the browser.
