Exciting and colorful parade of historic cars yesterday morning in Mezzocorona (Tn – Italy) with BELLEZZE IN PIAZZA (BEAUTIES IN THE SQUARE)!
The event BELLEZZE IN PIAZZA (BEAUTIES IN THE SQUARE) promoted by the Piana Rotaliana Cultural Association in the figures of Roberto Tampella and the artist Gentile Polo, who took care of the graphics, saw the enthusiastic collaboration of Councilor Permer, the Mayor and the group of car enthusiasts “At the wheel … we start: Passion in friendship” to which Roberto himself belongs:
“… the idea of this project was born following my passion for historical cars and thinking about how beautiful it could be to bring them to town with a fashion show dedicated to them.” But the purpose of all is also to enhance the our beautiful square ». So here on July 1st, forty splendid historical beauties have gathered with their owners for their departure at the square of the Trento – Malè di Mezzocorona station. The cars, as planned and with the careful coordination of the local police, began their journey to the church square at 10.45.
I feel excited to have been able to watch the departure from the station, despite the lack of a train to work on the line until 28th of the month, of a timely replacement coach because it was a holiday and a ride from Gardolo to the edge of a Suzuki bordeaux equally historic my father who over eighty then has the delirium tremens …
Leaving all vehicles to the square, I climbed back to the corner of the church where the organizers of the event had allowed the preparation of the artistic bench of the Studio d’Arte Gentile Polo.
Under the fresh, shady fronds of the trees, the artist Gentile Polo was already busy enthusiastically explaining his pictorial technique and showing portraits of historical cars made for the occasion.
The corner was comfortable and providential both for the heat wave that accompanied the event, both for the excellent view of the show that took place.
Among the enthusiasm of the public, especially children and camera-car enthusiasts, the forty beauties were paraded in the square one by one, showing themselves, with the bodywork polished like a rich lady and showing their own best features in front of the Jury stage.
Also the speaker who was able to entertain the public by fusing technical descriptions and sympathy.
After the actual show, you could take advantage of the coupons of the event to access the canteen and have lunch all together with grilled meats (burgers, bacon and wurstel) grilled, fries with sauces to choose from and fresh bread.
In the afternoon, the historical beauties were brought together at Palazzo Martini, an elegant 17th century building, first home of the noble family De Vescovi (witnessed by the coat of arms with rampant lions above the entrance portal), then the Counts Martini with the marriage union by Teresa De Vescovi with Carlo Martini of Calliano (1714).
Although in theory the historicity of the building was well suited to that of the participating cars, I can not but disagree with the journalist Daniele Bebber of the newspaper trentino.it because, in practice, the numerous cars not only cluttered the courtyard of the ‘building, but they were so stacked that the bench of the Jury with the awards had to get stuck in the middle and a dozen cars were not able to park with the others, but find a place outside.
Too bad a lot more than that, given the limited space, the invited audience could not attend the morning, but only the owners of the historic cars competing with the family.
Despite this inconvenience, the participating cars were stupendous, the owners rightly proud and ten were rewarded for various reasons on forty participants.
