Christmas is upon us and awaits you at the event “A Christmas two castles”, with two fantastic weekends (8-9 and 15 – 16 December 2018) at the party of art, music and shows!
The event “Un Natale due castelli” brings together the overwhelming sounds of gospel music by Nuvolera’s Gospel Time Choir, to the aerial dance performances of the well known LaS RabiS acrobats.
To the music and air artists are added the poetic decorations of the Tree of Artists!

The artists’ Christmas tree is adorned with magical Chinese lanterns painted and decorated by local and international masters of painting on the design and invitation of the indefatigable Milanese architect and artist Sig.a Antonella Bosio of Atelier Art Dinamico.
Among the “pink quotas” of the artists participating in the initiative, in addition to Antonella Bosio herself, we find the thirty Sarah Mutinelli with the characterizing image of Omino, Nadia Soardi, Carmen Rosa Luzzardi specializing in decoration in Urbino, the art designer Liala Polato and Rossella Pirro in art Tela Mancina.
On the male side, they responded to the Michele Avigo initiative of the Movimento iTown Arte, the graphic designer Paolo Puddu, Dhoi Blanc (Claudio) and the chromatic painter Gentile Polo of cosmic dynamism.
The tree, understood as a symbol of life, was widespread in all cultures, even before the birth of Christianity
[…] It is present for example in the ancient religion of Canaan (today’s Palestine) that recognized a religious role in the trees: the Bible speaks of it, referring to the “oaks of Mamre” and hinting at the sacred groves placed atop certain heights; while in the famous northern saga of the Nibelungs it is said that at the center of the earth there is a large ash tree.
The druids, ancient priests of the Celts, noting that the firs always remained green even during the winter, considered them a symbol of long life and began to honor them on the winter solstice festival.
Among the people of pagan centronordic Europe it seems that the celebration of the winter solstice also involved the burning of a tree (a pine or a fir, resinous and very flammable trees), in a sort of propitiatory and illuminating rite in the winter night that was beginning to regress. ”
(in “Traditions of Christmas: this is how the custom of decorating the tree was born”, by Martina Brusini, news.leonardo.it of 24.12.2013)
The festivities of the winter solstice were made to coincide with the ecclesiastical Christmas of the 25 in an attempt to combat paganism but the use of the Christmas tree remained widespread.
According to ancient legends, which can be traced back to the year one thousand, when Jesus was born, the plants have sprouted and flowered: here then, in the Christian context, in the course of Christmas, branches of apple or cherry are put in water for weeks to flower at Christmas and in Advent time, the houses of branches of trees, preferably of evergreens, are adorned.
The tradition of the “Adam and Eve Spiele” (games of Adam and Eve), commonly known as “mysteries”, real staged that took place on the churchyard on the evening of the eve dates back to the Middle Ages.
[…] the decorative picture is essentially given by the tree, that of the fruit of sin. The Bible does not say what kind of tree it is and therefore it changes according to the region in which the “mystery” was staged; with the passage of time then the evergreen fir is imposed everywhere “(Ibid.)
Even the paper lanterns, popular in China, Korea, Thailand, Japan and in all the districts where an Asian majority predominate, are good wishes, a symbol of light and good wishes for the future, so what better idea than to use them as Christmas tree decorations?
Each artist who responded to the initiative as Mr. Gentile Polo received two lanterns each to paint and decorate according to their style and sensitivity and the final effect is really exciting!
