The Gentile Polo Art Studio "face to face" with Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti

The inauguration of "A tu per tu. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti ” (Face to face. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti) on Saturday 23 March at the Civic Gallery in Trento (IT) was pleasantly engaging for the artist Gentile Polo, who knew the Trentino sculptor personally, who died in 2008. Mauro De Carli (Trento, 1944 - 2008), a graduate of the Alessandro Vittoria State Institute of Trento, became a student of Marino Marini at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, with whom he created etchings and sculptures by the Maestro in Forte dei Marmi among 1967 and 1968. From 1969 to 1977 he collaborated as an engraver with the painter Gino Meloni at the Lissone School of Painting, then returned to his native city, founded the cultural circle "La finestra" (The window) and until 1996 he taught plastic disciplines at the Art Institute that had it seen graduating. Mauro De Carli's sculptures tell of a very human artist, who at the time sought direct contact with the general public. The same artist Gentile Polo told me, during the visit to the exhibition, that in front of one of his sculptures represented upside down, or "in the position of the candle", in his garden he curiously asked why he had his head in the grass and the Master would answer quickly that, given how the world was going it was evident that he was governed with his feet. At the exhibition “A tu per tu. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti " (Face to face. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti) the sculptor is put into direct dialogue with the student, highlighting the contemporary dialogue between sculpture and painting. Piermario Dorigatti (Trento, 1954) also graduated from the Art Institute of Trento and deepened the techniques of Drawing and Sculpture under Mauro De Carli with whom he co-founded the art circle "La finestra" (The window). In Milan the meeting with the artists Gino and Ermes Meloni and Mattia Moreni stimulate him to pictorial research, so much so that in 1994 he graduated with full marks in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Two artists from Trentino, Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti, who are very strong and with the inauguration of Saturday 23 March at the Civic Gallery in Trento they attracted enthusiasts and admirers, friends and art colleagues including Antonello Serra, Stefano Benedetti and the rotaliano artist Gentile Polo, in addition to the actor and model Marco Consoli. (In photo: the artist Gentile Polo visits the exhibition of his friend De Carli and Dorigatti at the Galleria Civica in Trento).   “A tu per tu. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti " (Face to face. Mauro De Carli and Piermario Dorigatti) is therefore a bi-personal exhibition curated by Margherita de Pilati, a must-see.
"The master's work is represented by a selection of works realized in plaster, bronze and cement between the Seventies and the first two thousand. Dorigatti exhibits paintings executed mostly in the last year specifically for the exhibition. "(From De Carli and Dorigatti, master and student at the Galleria Civica, art. Of March 23, 2019).
