In Conversano ... the arts of Face'Arts 2019 converse

In Conversano the collective exhibition Face'Arts 2019 opened on September 7th and reached its thirteenth traveling edition!   (In photo: official Face'Art 2019 poster with the list of names of the participating artists, including the artist Rotaliano Gentile Polo).   The Conversano Castle (Bari, It) is the background to the collective exhibition, the first attestations of which date back to around 1054 AD during Norman domination. The military fortress was originally quadrangular in shape with four massive corner towers defending it, of which only one known as Torre Maestra survives today and is located on the western corner of the manor. The Castle began its fame under Goffredo de Hauteville (Altavilla), nephew of Roberto "il Guiscardo", who first assumed the title of Count. The Altavillas were followed by several noble families: Bassavilla, Gentile, Brienne, d'Enghien and Orsini who, together with Giovanni Antonio, passed the duchy to the Acquavivas by marrying their natural daughter Caterina with the Duke of Atri and Teramo Giulio Antonio Acquaviva. It was the counts of Acquaviva who modernized the Conversano Castle from squat military fortress to a luxury residence with Gothic touches and rich works of art to embellish the rooms.   (In photo: Castle of Conversano, taken from "Fortresses and Castles of Apulia: The Acquaviva Castle of Aragon of Conversano" by Cosimo Enrico Marseglia, article of 13 October 2018 in LA VOCE DI MARUGGIO.it)   Therefore the Castle of Conversano could not host an interesting traveling collective like Mary Sperti's Face'Arts. The Face'Art 2019 edition of September shows works by 31 Italian and international paying artists chosen from a selection of 170, with mixed works including painting, sculpture and photography. Among the foreign artists participating: the sculptor Laura Ford (Ireland), the painter Dalila Mudura and the dramatic portraitist Luise Gandon (Austria), the late sculptor Ivan Cristobal Rojas Roa and Patricio Rojas Roa (Mexico) and the material Dieter List (Hamburg, Germany) who works bandages of colored chalk. Among the Italian artists, there are: Patrizia Palitta (Sardinia) with her informal abstract painting, the engraved portraits of Sabrina Costa and the photographer Paolo Santoro (Sicily), Pix Cataldi and the oils of Massimiliano Palazzo (Puglia); the self-taught painter and sculptor Angelo Melaranci, Claudio Orlandini, the photographer Roberto Carnevali and Andrea Dubbini with the vices and virtues of his rebel "anareti" (Marche). And again: the painter Angela Iandelli and the architect Michele Berlot with her evocative abstract painting (Tuscany); Alessandra Casetta with trompe l'oeil and abstract oils by Luigi Cataldi (Piedmont); the decorator Susi "Sturriziani" Turriziani (Lazio), from Lombardy the essential art of Moira Linda Toussaint, Ilaria Ingrosso and the informal Fabio "Snoze" D’Agostino who
"He draws inspiration from sutures, infections and diseases of the human body and from the work they do, nature and atmospheric agents on the surface of things. He creates works, mixing building materials, medical materials and classic pictorial use. "(From PitturiAmo.com the portal of contemporary painters).
Romagna Mario Formica, Fabio Frabetti and his abstract citizens where the human is lost in machines and architecture and action painting by Mauro Malafronte; Silvia Zambon with her material painting inspired by the fifties / sixties, the photographer Dionisio Todeschi, Alessandro Vaccari and the president President SBAV (Society of Fine Arts of Verona) Gianni Lollis (Veneto); and as a representative of Trentino-Alto Adige the master of Decoration Gentile Polo, a life in and for color.   (In photo: of the Trentino artist Gentile Polo "The rape of the soul", 118 x 98 cm, watercolor on wood for Face'Art 2019 in Conversano - Bari, Italy).
"We are very pleased to welcome the" Facè Arts "project to Conversano - said the mayor Pasquale Loiacono - the group show that contains interesting works by emerging artists, an expression of contemporary Italian and foreign art. An event that goes well with our vocation as a city of art. "(From Face'Arts returns to Conversano the collective of artists, art published on Bonculture.it September 4, 2019).
In addition to the Mayor of Conversano, the local Councilor for Culture Ciccio Magistà, the Austrian director Reinhard Auer, the pizzica dancer Veronica Calati, and the folklore guitar and tradition of Massimiliano De Marco took their support. At the collective exhibition Face'Arts 2019 in the Castello di Conversano, there is a three-person group show in the church and convent of San Giuseppe (17th century), now a municipal library, with Mauro Malafronte, Paolo Miceli and Mary Sperti. The Face'Arts 2019 collective exhibition at the Norman Castle of the Acquaviva Counts of Aragona in Conversano is free of charge and will remain open to the public until September 18 with time: from Monday to Sunday 6.00 pm - 10.00 pm, Saturday and Sunday the exhibition can also be visited in the morning with 10.00 - 12.30 hours.
