Pleasant afternoon Sunday 13 October for the Gentile Polo Art Studio thanks to the visit of the nice Danilo Artist (Micheletto)!
Arriving around half past one in the afternoon despite the forfeiture of his travel van, he joined us for lunch.
A good Teroldego wine “Castel Firmian” has dissolved the pleasantries of the diners who have disqualified themselves from art, in particular on the theme “Unraveling the secrets of their technique to others?”, and of youth events.
Regarding the first argument, Mr. Danilo Artist does not feel inclined to describe his artistic technique, mostly because no one asks a painter how he paints considering the banal technique and affordable for everyone even if it is not.
Instead, the artist Gentile Polo is inclined to “Yes” because if his technique is revealed to a layman who will never paint or will never paint at high levels, it will not lead to anything, if the user has a higher capacity, he will only be able to learn and further improve yourself.
After coffee and Prosecco wine the banquet has become even more pleasantly informal with youthful stories.
Taken as a starting point the fact that the young son of Mr. Danilo applied for the Civil Service (IT sector), the father told of how, at his age, beard and long hair at the “Son of flowers”, he was already a pacifist but he was nevertheless chosen for military service.
And what does a pacifist do in a military camp? It makes the superiors madly mad to put it “in line”. While his colleagues finished the service he couldn’t because he had to pay for the punishments, so that when he went to ask when he would finish the period, the superiors had almost forgotten him!
Transferred to Forlì, he arrives alone with the train in civilian clothes and asks two military indications and laughingly they direct him to the barracks. In Forlì he is entrusted to an old man on the edge of his pension who, given clear terms and long friendship, will leave him in peace to clean up if the soldier Micheletto does not cause him problems.
Everything goes on calmly until the change of the elderly military guard who retires and a colleague unaware of the pacifist soldier, who after three days calmly starts to advise the new officer to inquire about his previous state of service.
Once the problem has been solved, the soldier Danilo Micheletto peacefully returns to finish his military service by doing quiet cleaning and jobs.
Told with his comic verve these anecdotes have sparked the general hilarity of the diners, who toasted his adventures with a second round of Prosecco wine.
The guest artist Gentile Polo then exposed to the colleague the next project to open an art gallery in the large room adjacent to his apartment, an especially usable gallery without the classic market costs that generally choke the artists instead of facilitating them .
The afternoon continued with a visit to the Studio at the back of the building and new projects in progress, including the decoration of a cardboard skull for the collective exhibition organized for the “Dia de Muertos” (Day of the dead – Halloween) .
The project sees the intervention of the architect Antonella Bosio, a cultural interchange collaborator with the Colectivo Achokez
(Pátzcuaro, Michoacàan. Mèxico), which is composed of artists from different disciplines such as painting, sculpture and engraving. Its base is in the CASA GRAY laboratory, in the city of Patzcuaro, Michoacan and its purpose is to promote culture both in Mexico and abroad. “(From” Brescia: Parade of “Catrinas” for the Dia de Muertos “in Bresciatoday.it on 2nd and 3rd November 2018).
Another project, in this case personal of the artist Gentile Polo, is the creation of a kitchen table with an iron base in colored crossed bands, the top in carved natural wood and completed with inserts in artificial marble, a painting and natural inserts from insert in the resin for an amber effect.
Great interest from my colleague Danilo Artist (Micheletto) for the piece while working for a furniture factory.
Between speeches on color and ancient techniques, the afternoon ended with the occasion of a dying with Danilo Artist who wanted to photograph himself with the skull, either alone or with all the staff of the Gentile Polo Art Studio, who enthusiastically consented!

A really nice afternoon that saw lastly the friend Danilo Artist pick up the paintings with which he had participated in our collective exhibition “Incontri d’Autunno” in 2018 at the Archaeological Area of Palazzo Lodron.
The departure for the return of our friends with the customary greetings and the promise to keep them informed about the progress of the “Gentile Polo Gallery” project is inevitable.
