The Rotalian Gentile Polo is among the artists who participated in the exhibition of celebratory labels for the anniversary of Sagrantino wine ABBINAMENTI MONTEFALCO (MONTEFALCO COMBINATIONS) in Perugia (Italy).
The Abbinamenti Montefalco (Combinations Montefalco) event was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Consortium for the protection of Montefalco wines and La Strada del Sagrantino, the contribution of the PSR Umbria, the Gal Valle Umbra and Sibillini and the patronage of the Municipality of Montefalco and the Umbria region.
The event intertwines tastings with the flavors of the territory, music and art, in an unprecedented formula to experience all the nuances of the wine territories of Montefalco and Spoleto, where the protagonists are the Montefalco Sagrantino Docg, Montefalco Doc and Spoleto Doc denominations.
The inauguration took place in web streaming in full compliance with the anti-covid-19 ministerial regulations on the official Facebook page of the Montefalco Wine Protection Consortium by the President of the Italian Food and Wine Tourism Association Roberta Garibaldi, one of the leading Italian wine tourism experts as well as World Food Travel Association Ambassador for Italy and member of the Board World Gastronomy Institute.
Several historic buildings involved in the event, from the Cloister of S. Agostino to the museum complex of S. Francesco, from the Council Hall of the Municipality of Montefalco to the Infopoint Hall of the Montefalco Wine Protection Consortium and Strada del Sagrantino to the garden of the former prisons.

There are four artistic events scheduled: “Black and white” and “Recipes at the table with Sagrantino” by Metelli and Tavaglione at the Chiostro di S. Agostino, the exhibition of labels celebrating the DOCG Montefalco Sagrantino vintages at the Infopoint of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco and Strada del Sagrantino, and the exhibition of the proposal of artist’s celebratory labels “Preview Sagrantino” in the garden of the ex-Prisons.
Among the proposals of the Sagrantino Preview celebratory label on display also that of the Trentino artist Gentile Polo, who with the work “Umbrian-Marche Landscape” wanted to pay homage to the beauty of the territory, home of Sagrantino wine.

From 18 to 20 September 2020 the Abbinamenti Montefalco (Combinations Montefalco) event offered the general public a journey through the senses, in a current historical and artistic setting of which the undisputed protagonist remains the Sagrantino wine.
The commitment of all the organizers and also the intelligent use of web tools has shown that it is possible to offer the public an articulated and interesting program while fully respecting safety and anti-covid regulations.
