The cleaning palette fights stereotypes for March 8th

"The cleaning palette" (Original title: La Paletta) is an exhibition and an artistic attack on gender stereotypes organized by the Brescian artist Antonella Bosio. Graduated in Architecture and interior decoration, Antonella Bosio tells:
I started the exhibition season with some ailments last year. During all the checkups, visits and therapies, something happens that amazes me at first, then indignates me and makes me think, up to the concept that I would like to propose this year for the celebrations of 8 March. I am at my doctor (woman) [...] I only prescribe some natural anti-inflammatory and then a recommendation, be careful! Yes, be careful, when for example you wash the floors and rinse the mop or when you bend down to pick up the dirt with the cleaning palette [...] I promptly replied that the only moment and place that he saw me "bent" was the work table on which I dedicated myself to my painting activity and that I would raise the level of work, so as not to strain my back. I thanked.

I went out thinking; if I had been a man would he have given me the same advice? Or could the privilege of the “paddle” be considered only “feminine”? [...] damn cleaning palette! It will be long the re-education work that we will have to face to destroy these stereotypes, above all because they are rooted and radicalized, but above all eternally renewed in the generations to come [...] It is for this reason that "the palette" has become for me a symbol of a emancipation, not only for women. A fight against the stereotype. I would like this humble object declined to the "feminine" to be the ransom to demonstrate what and how many options can open up for cultural emancipation on roles.   "The cleaning palette" (Original title: La Paletta) thus becomes the object around which the artists have ventured into the creation of one or more original and creative works to analyze the theme and offer food for thought between the serious and the facetious to reach all age groups of the 'user.     Born as a "physical" cultural event that was to be held in 2020, it was only possible to make it online this spring, from 8 to 21 March 2021 due to the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. Numerous artists who accepted the initiative, we remember: in addition to the curator Mrs. Antonella Bosio, the young painter from Casorate Sempione Kia Ruffato, Mimma Polisano teacher of Art and Image, the architect Liala Polato, Maria Teresa Bolis graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts "Brera" Milan, Rosa Acunzo painter and restorer, Gabriella Caobelli restorer, Margherita Cavallo teacher of architectural and environmental design at the Caravaggio Art School in Milan. And again: Carmen Rosa Luzzardi graduated in Decoration at the Fine Arts of Brescia, the watercolorist Renata Di Palma from Trentino, the Visual artist Veronique Pozzi Painé, Elisabetta Bosisio teacher of Technical Design and Furniture at the IPSIA of Lissone, Beatrice Zanardelli graduated in Decoration at the Belle Arts of Brescia, the contemporary artist Topylabris (born Ornella Piluso), Eugenia Scaglioni sculptor and engraver. The only artists representing the "male" world are the artist from Montichiari Mr. Paolo Puddu and the Trentino master of color Mr. Gentile Polo to whom a mention of praise must be given for their social commitment. Combined with the photo of the work, each artist was able to indicate a sentence, a verse or a short text that would explain the meaning of the realization.
